The celeron name was taken over by the P4 markitecture. They have to shift the stuff by any means fair or foul.

pray tell your definition of "better", if you mean better in a moneysaving manner then fair enough, otherwise care to elaborate...0 -
P4 HT canny beat itNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

[P4 HT canny beat it]
Are you trying saying that the Hyper Threading marketecture of the P4 cannot better the non HT of Celeron. The Celeron D is crippleware. The L2 cache is 256K compared to 1Mb and the FSB is hobbled to 533Mhz compared to 800Mhz. Some newer versions of the P4/Celeron are 64 bit capable, does anybody know how to tell ?

Although not the answer to your question, But go for AMD 64 bit chip - cheaper
less heat, 64 bit technology aswell as the current 32 bit and great for games when coupled with a good graphics card.
Intell have just released their version of the 64 bit chip - don't think P4/Celeron are!0 -
well ive got a P4 HT 800 MHZ and its been superb with me, only talking from my experaiance, wouldnt choose another processorNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

Celeron's are Pentium's that just didn't meet the mark.
They are then further downgraded where necessary.
Go for the Pentium - less pain!
Personally I would recommend looking at AMD instead of Intel.0
