flights to Gambia

We are thinking of visiting some relatives in Gambia sometime in the next 3 months for a short holiday.
I've been looking around for flight price comparisons.
It looks like it might be cheaper booking a package than just a flight.

I can't work out how Thomas Cook can charge £142 outward bound from Manchester yet return price is well over £300!

I've played around with dates but still the return flight seems way out of proportion to the outward one.

also has anyone ever booked with Carlton Leisure, seemed very cheap for this destination.

Gambia is one of those destinations with a lot of cheap package holidays. Nothing to stop you from booking one and unpacking it, although you should inform the rep or hotel if you do not intend to use the booked accommodation for some or all of the time.

Thanks for the reply, however after doing more research on the area, I'm afraid it is one of the places I will not be visiting.
