Lol I love this thread! My bf's mum (whilst a very nice and often generous lady) will only buy "the best" stuff (buys only expensive branded ingredients, shops for house stuff at John Lewis/Lakeland etc) which I can't afford being full-time student. When I told her I always bought some basics from Poundland she was horrified on my behalf and thought that it was terrible - until about half-way through the conversation her husband piped up "but I buy stuff for us there all the time!".
They also refuse to shop around for their G & E because "BG is the best for servicing the boiler" (you can pay for this service separately and get your supply cheaper) and recently they saved over £200 by not renewing their home insurance with the same company they've had for 10 years. I'm getting there slowly trying to convince them that they're being ripped off with everything because they're the sort of loyal customers that companies love!
