Advice req housing benefit

Comments

  • You'll be much happier if you just keep your mind on what YOU have, rather than looking at what others have. The grass is always greener and all that.
  • Students generally cannot claim housing benefit

They can if they have children. Once the baby is born, and mum goes back to uni, she can claim a depdendents grant for her partner.

They can also claim housing benefit, and will probably get full rate for their situation if partner is not working.

In London and other large cities? Plenty.

In a quiet Gloucestershire village surrounded by the Severn Hills? Of course the answers none. I doubt that there are many living in houses there either.

According to the OP they're all lining up at the courts! ;)

Interestingly, the last quarters homelessness statistics show that of those accepted as homeless in England, only 64% were classed as "white", compared to a population which is 84% white. So, you are MORE likely to be homeless if you AREN'T white.

My daughter wasn't irresponsable her implant failed and she's not the first or the last either that this has/will happen to
  • That was over 9 months ago. What has she done since then to ensure her self sufficiency? As you said yourself, she can't even be bothered to do basic chores around the home that you so kindly provide for free. And is it that responsible to bed down with such a useless boyfriend.... And then KEEP him?
  • I dont really get the gist of why the OP is writing this thread. In the first part hes saying everyone saying hes a mug, then hes says that why shouldnt his daughter claim benefits as hes paid taxes... yet on his other thread hes complaining about his relatives who dont work that get everything and dont pay taxes. So the whole thread seems a bit hypocritical. You dont mind your daughter claiming benefits but you do your other relatives. Youve a four bedroomed home, its your daughter?????? Either she stays with you or like you said on your other thread claims benefits that your tax has paid for so that you can become upset thats shes getting everything for not working!

At least we got our health which money can't buy anyway I dare say it will all work out in the end

It can't buy civility and politeness either, which is something seriously lacking judging by some of the comments on this forum sometimes.
  • I do find it strange that the OP is being critisised for taking his daughter and family in under these circumstances, surely he is not to be expected to throw them out on the street.
Moods change on here so much, one day you should support your kids, the next let them look after their-selves. Amazing!
