Have you used DinoPC? Do you have experience with them? (Suggesting random online companies is only relevant if you can backup their service, or state that you have none).
In my case I made this clear in my post ... and for the record, Cyberpower Systems were very good throughout the whole process.
@jennie - what are you planning to actually DO with the new PC? (The planned usage will determine what you NEED).
I use my computer for far less then I'd like to at the moment!
I currently use it for email and internet browsing, but I'd also like to be able to run the bbc-iplayer or 4od or YouTube at the same time as having both gmail and hotmail (and sometimes yahoo mail) on at the same time. I get pop ups for gmail and have had to disable this because it currently makes my computer freeze for up to 5 minutes a time. I get about 200 emails a day and about 25% of these are when I am using my computer!
I also like to have about 10 different pages up at the same time, I'm using a different computer right now (my computer is that bad...) and I have ebay, hotmail, MSE, Gmail, Twitter, a survey panel site, youtube and Runners Need up as well as LastFM and iTunes running. (I can't afford to buy this computer, it was over a grand!) I'd like to be able to flick from page to page and have the correct page appear and not a different page or a white screen whilst the correct page reloads after me pressing the refresh button! I also have an antivirus protection running in the back ground.
I am assuming all these issues are because I do too much for my computer to cope with though having said that, even with just one page open I can get freezing.0 -

wow whats got your goat?
suggesting companies for a OP to check out based on cost and system spec is in my mind certainly relevant, as a OP should be perfectly capable of checking out companies reputation themselves and deciding if they wish to go with them or not, one persons experience does not guarantee a perfect experience with any company whereas checking online reviews will give a more broad spectrum of responses (taking into account most people tend to only review when they have had problems)
and for the record - personally no i have had no dealings with dinopc as i build my own, but one of my mates has recently got a Dinopc pc and is more than happy with it, especially considering he had a problem with it in the first week, and had no problem when sending it back as they sent someone to pick it up within 2 days and then fixed and sent it back 3-4 days later (cant remember the exact timings) all at no cost to him as stated in their warrenty,
im not saying the OP should not look at other companies, but the one linked i would probably use as a base spec when checking out other companiesDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
If you've been annoyed with Dell then good luck with those jokers at PC World and their 'service'

Well spotted there Detective Closed.....
So shall we meet up when the OP starts a new thread next month?

Sorry, I thought I'd post when I had more info and to be honest have no idea how I'd chase back my old threads on this. I'd been looking for a computer for a while, each time I got close enough something happened (I was burgled, I had financial issues I'd not anticipated, I'd realised just how much more money I'd need for what I wanted from a computer...)at one point I did follow all the help suggested on a thread, thought I'd more or less fixed the issue but nope, a few weeks later and I'm back to square one. Hence posting about the same issue so frequently.
I hadn't posted to troll or look for a new computer each month- (in fact did I post every month...?) If I'd been brainy enough to answer my own questions, I'd have worked out what I needed myself and not bothered anyone else.
I had imagined here would be a good place to ask people things I didn't know, go away, have a think and then come back with further questions, I hadn't realised there were rules about doing this.0 -
The C521 isn't a bad machine, and the freezes probably aren't the hardware; you could consider (a) increasing the memory, and (b) replacing Vista with Windows 7.0

In all the previous threads, it was suggested you post a hijackthis log and details of the machine and problems encountered, numerous times, something which takes less than a minute, and might identify what is wrong with your machine, because the likelihood as has been pointed out over and over again, is the problems is a software problem, not hardware. Software problems can be fixed in 15 minutes on a Dell, by doing a factory restore. A ram upgrade for your existing machine would also help without spending much

What does a breaking down screen mean? That could be video card related.
You've posted a log before, but 2.5 years ago

If your machine has the same or more bloat/rootkits than it had 2.5 years ago, and no virus scanner, it's not surprising you have issues trying to run many things at once in 1GB of ram.
There are no rules about posting, but the effect is you get similar answers each time from the same people, or similar answers from different people, or people repeating the same ignored advice over and over in the same thread.
As for a new one, a <£350 laptop would do the job easily. add in £25 for some desktop ram, £40 for a portable usb hard disk, and you have 2 working machines and a method of backup for less money than a new desktop
I suggest you have a play around with windows8 in a shop before purchasing anything, as it's not to everyones taste.
