30 day rolling contract home broadband

Options
I'm moving into a flat for 2/3 months, is there any way to get broadband for this period?

Also, for providers where you need a phone line, does that mean you have to pay line rental and buy a phone package? That's ridiculous, I don't use a home phone......

Yes there is. It will cost you almost exactly the same as 12 months of discounted broadband so you may as well take a 12 month contract and terminate it after 3 months paying the cancellation fee.

You could get a 3G mobile connection instead but they to tend to be quite slow.

You aren't renting the phone package. You are renting the line the copper cable from your home to the BT exchange. It is and always will be owned by BT. Just go for the minimum package which is usually Evening and Weekend calls. It doesn't cost much more (usually £0) than just line rental.

OK but if line rental costs 15 pounds a month it will be more expensive than the internet itself.

    Yes that's correct.

    Try Tesco broadband...

The line rental is £13.75 a month
The unlimited internet is £2.50 a month

It'll be your cheapest deal. £195 for the year....use it for 3 months it'll cost you £65 a month.

Edit: They have a 3 month happiness guarantee so you could say after 2 and a half months that you don't like the service and wish to cancel.
