Keep it up, I have a cup of Green tea a day with lunch, try the peppermint tea as well.
I've given up the smokes and I was drinking less, but have went for water, which means I now need more comfort breaks at work than I did "fag breaks".0 -
Well done so far and keep going at it bit by bit

I've been drinking energy drinks for the last 7 or so years
So can confirm it is addictive!!
so much so, OH and I renamed it "crack"
I have been drinking a minimum of 2 litre bottles a day  it was just about my only drink, occasionally i'd have a glass of water...Madness
Im not sure why i drank it, it no longer gave me a boost, i could drink a bottle and easily go to sleep. i think i became immune!!
I'm now 5 days clean, not a drop and apart from feeling rough and headachy on day 2 its been pretty easy to give it up :T
I do now have an odd cup of coffee or tea, so still get a bit of caffine.
I don't feel any more tired than before, i do get hungry quicker.
Believe me if i can give up my crack anyone can!! good luck :TBuild your own dreams ~ or someone will hire you to help build theirs

Maybe reading this:http://www.energyfiend.com/death-by-red-bull
could help? It is true, the first aid trainer we had at work told us a few stories about him having to do CPR on a few kids and adults addicted on Redbull or equivalent0 -
Themoneyspider - that is an amazing achievement, well done you!! :T
Well "D" day is here and I have just consumed my last ever can of this evil stuff, I hope. I don't have any more and I fully intend not to buy any more! I am now on about 10 cups of green tea per day. I've now tried lots of different flavours and love them all, especially cranberry, pineapple & grapefruit, lemon and aloe vera. I haven't had a single can of diet coke in over a week now - probably the longest period ever without one in 30 years!
One thing I've already noticed is that my skin is noticeably clearer already. I used to have horrible spots on my upper arms and shoulders and they've nearly all gone already.
I know there is caffeine in the tea but I'm not really concerned about that. It was the horrible chemicals I was trying to eliminate and green tea has so many good qualities I'm a lot happier to be drinking that instead.
Oh, and in the pub on Friday evening I only had 2 drinks but managed to have vodka, lime and soda instead of vodka redbull.
I really hope I can stick to this and kick that stuff for good now.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Teas flavoured with fruit extracts (lemon, pineapple grapefruit etc )are incredibly acidic, some more than orange juice, and high in sugar. Ten cups a day will rapidly cause acid erosion and tooth decay. They should be kept to meal times and occasional treats.

Teas flavoured with herbs e.g. chamomile, peppermint, jasmine etc are fine as is unflavoured green tea.The problem with aloe vera is it often has lemon juice as well so very acid again.0 -
Good for you! Just read the thread. I had to give up energy drinks last year. I had two or three of the cheap ones a day, plus at least six cups of coffee until my doctor quite reasonably pointed out that being on blood pressure medication didn't make me the smartest choice for constant streams of caffeine, taurine etc. My blood pressure dropped five points in a week!
I've had to reduce caffeine overall now due a further deterioration in the BP condition, and am down to two coffees a day, no diet coke, no redbull etc. Damn near killed me giving it up, but I found that the concern about having a stroke at the age of 38 pretty much overwhelmed the headaches of withdrawal!
Stay off it. It does you no good, and in excess does you harm (like most things will in real excess, but this is actually quantifiable).
Good luckSome days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Well done! What's the plan for the money saved? It'd be nice to find some way to treat yourself to reinforce that making the change is worthwhile.
A book you really fancy, a beauty treatment, a meal out maybe?
