If you don't feel up to looking yourself, you could ask on social networking sites etc. Advertise a small reward for info."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Is this only in cases like this or could I try ringing my insurer and ask them nicely to hire me a car cheaply?
Unless you have the correct cover they won't pay for it, however some Insurers allow their customers very preferential rates with someone like Enterprise. Try asking your Insurer, they will either offer it or not.0 -
If your car was quite valuable, I agree with what one of the others said, put an advert up with a small reward if the car is valuable or is particularly important.
Otherwise, have a look at a long-term rental, cheaper than just your standard rental. Hope your car turns up!0
