We went years ago when Kiddo was 6 (she's 15 now!). It was pretty good, nice and clean and lots of entertainment during the day and in the evenings. They used to do a quiz every lunchtime which was ace, but that may have changed now. The swimming pool was good, with a slide.

Porthcawl is nice, and the beach is lovely. We drove up the coast and watched the surfers, and went rockpooling.

If you've got transport there's plenty to see out and about - castles in various states of ruin, and one with stepping stones over a river. I can't remember the names or the locations - Google is your friend! If I remember rightly there was a big Tesco fairly nearby too.
  • Thanks guys,I remember the last few years it being freakishly hot in march/April time so hopefully b the same next year!

We went a couple of years ago and had a fab time, pool, ball pit, beach within easy walking distance. Other big bonus is if its a nice evening you can sit outside on the bar terrace area while the children play in the adventure playground
  • Ive been the last two years and had a wonderful time! Something for all ages, had a lovely walk all along the front into Porthcawl, drove into Cardiff for Techniquest and Swansea for 1940s museum. The site is well looked after, staff were very helpful and the restaurant was excellent (though a little pricey) The only reason we arent going back there again this year is because the kids fancied trying somewhere different but it will have to go some to beat Trecco.
I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

  • Techniquest is wonderful, we used Tesco vouchers so went for free and it filled up a whole day, managing to occupy an 11 yo. 13 yo 18 yo, 2 adults and a gran in her 80s is no mean feat but it succeeded! Dont like the fair, it seemed so old and run down that we gave it a wide berth. We also had a day out to Margam Park, the boys went fishing while we looked round at the animals and had a picnic. The 1940s museum at Swansea was also great, one of those hidden little gems. I love sitting in Cardiff Bay eating Cadwalladers Ice cream watching the world go by!
