Price promise problem

I bought a TV on the 18th of December from a well known retailer , the retailer had the TV advertised on their website twice
1) was TV and free sound bar and £20 worth of films for £1299
2) was TV on its own for £1299
I went to their local store to me and bought the TV with the free sound bar and films and the TV was delivered on the 19th .
I was told in store that if the price drops within 7days that they would refund the difference, and that the sale started on the £24 of December.
On the 24th the price dropped by £300 on the TV , but they also dropped the free sound bar and films deal.
Today I went into the store and asked for the refund , only to be told that they would refund the £300 , but they would charge me for the sound bar(£150) as this deal is no longer available.
What I want to know is can they do this as the sound bar was a freebie anyway, or am I expecting to much here.

Sounds fair to me.0

Sounds like they reduced TV only deal No. 2 but not the TV/soundbar package deal No.1. If you'd have bought the TV only you may have stood a chance of getting the £300 off.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Yep. They price promise the DEAL. If you bring back the soundbar and dvds unopened, I'm sure they'll honour the price drop...0

OK thanks everyone , maybe I was expecting to much , sometimes you just need other people to tell you :beer:0

But you could still get the £300 off and pay back the £150, so you're still saving £150 which is better than nothing?0

I did take the £150 but just wondered if I should have pushed for the £3000

No, and since the price drop was not on the deal they could completely have refused to refund anything if they wanted to be really difficult.
I think this seems like a decent result.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Even though the TV was advertised when I bought it with and with out the sound bar for the same price.
But it was also advertised at £1299 :P
Essentially the price drop promise is something afforded to you as a contractual right rather than a statute one. Which means they can attach whatever (more or less) T&Cs they want to it.
As others said though....still a saving of £150 which is more than 10%You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Sounds like I did ok getting £150 back then , I wasn't sure so I thought I would ask , thanks for all your advice ,I feel better now I felt a bit short changed earlier.0
