I need a new passport too Mini - my worry is that I won't be able to take an internal flight without one.
I do have some photo ID, but not suitable for flying. I'm 300 miles from my extended family in Wales, and if I ever had to get home quick on ,my own, I would need to fly.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Well, I definitely needed 95% of what I bought yesterday - a few - and I emphasise few - little treats sneaked into the trolley, but no guilt there. All work and no play, etc. Plus DS29 needs a little surprise boost in the cupboards too.
(29? Yeah, he's gone... come back... planned to go... didn't go... still here.)
I bought a silicone gun and realised straight away why I could never work the one I bought years ago that languished in the outhouse. The expletive thing was bust when it was bought. The new one is fine and looks like it will do a good job.
I bought a special tool for ripping off the old silicone/smoothing down the new stuff. No idea if this is truly needed but have distant memories of hacking at old silicone with Stanley knives, so it probably is.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I tried a tool to smooth out silicone before, found actually a wet finger, or wet rubber glove finger works better as you can feel what you're doing. Although I have no idea about how good silicone is for the skinFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Watch any plumber sealing a bath and they use a licked finger.....you have 10 tools for the purpose right at your fingertips...
In other news, we needed a new freezer as the seal on ours finally gave up the ghost after 15 years of use (flipping inconvenient timing to say the least). I decided I could cover the £168 cost over the next few months but stick it on the CC until the car is sold in a couple of weeks time. I've decided to create a new savings account labelled as Life's A B**ch which is one step below 'Emergency' for future such contingencies.
The imminent arrival of LittleWyrm within the next 3 weeks forced me to bite the bullet and pick up a couple of bottles on offer at Aldi for £9.99 along with a couple of mini-towels. Its hard to say what is going to happen in the next few weeks as the b***ger continues to remain stubbornly breach, so I've stocked the cupboards as best I can with stuff to tide us through if I cant do the shopping (either having to walk like John Wayne, or having experienced invasive abdominal surgery - its all to play for at the moment). OH is good(ish) at doing domestic stuff, but I prefer to control food spending myself.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Well today I needed to pay out £92 for a filling. I felt like I was being a bit extravagant paying extra for a white filling, but it turned out to be a tooth closer to the front than I thought, visible when I smile, so now I feel like it was money well spent! I'm going to start taking better care of my teeth though, as that's still much cheaper!
No more needs today, in fact all I need this week is food, so I will try to be good and avoid temptation until the 15th at least.0 -
Thanks for the silicone tips. The stuff still has to be removed and the 'remove' end of the specialist tool will be used, so I don't feel as if I've wasted my money. Sorry to hear about the freezer FireWyrm but I guess its better it goes now than just at the same time as bump arrives. Hope he/she manages to work out the GPS and turn the right way imminently (prob a boy..we all know what men are like with directions :rotfl:)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Managed to talk myself out of buying snacks i didn't need at work today. I think I'm dehydrated and tired, so I've been craving all sorts of rubbish lately! Doing overtime this weekend, so I'll be able to avoid my usual want pitfalls, as long as I avoid the vending machines!0

Rare day out with DH (& rarer still to be out without the kids) and had a v spoily 2 course lunch, with couple of drinks. Spent almost £50.
