Insurance replacement: Choice between two phones, Blackberry 9860 or HTC Desire X

All advice sought. My Blackberry Bold 9780 (on orange contract until april 2013) was stolen. My Bank Insurance do not have this model to offer at the present time but have offered a Blackberry 9860 or a HTC Desire X.
Contract gives 300 minutes, 5000 texts and 750mg data. Use about 10 mins, lots of texts and emails, etc take me near data limit. so bearing in mind the end of contract.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction with the choice presented?

Many thanks,
Alun

If you get used to BB, stick to it.
If you want something fresh, try Desire.

BBs are famous for compressing data well. If you were close to the limit with BB, you are likely to need more data with other phones or will have to cut your usage.

Also, you are likely to pay for BB services that you will not be able to use with other phones.
  • I would second grumbler on this although as your already a BB user might be better sticking to BB until the end of contract

You might find that the Blackberry stuff is simply an add on to your contact that you could remove if you got the Desire X

I hadn't realised the BB was more efficient in this respect.

I don't think there are any specific BB services I have used.

The release dates of the 3 phones are:-
My stolen BB - Autumn 2010
    BB Offered - Autumn 2011
    HTC Desire - Autumn 2012

    Should this help my decision?

9860, its the top of the range BB touchscreen...data on a BB is much cheaper as its compressed & SECURE.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
