Seems to be policy these days to set one section of society against another, then when people are busy squabbling the real culprits sit back, laugh and get on with shafting everyone.0

That's what the tories and their ilk do;)
It's what both sides do. Labour don't give two hoots for those who see accepting benefits with shame and want to live their lives without state interference.
What is worse? Expecting people to live independently or ruin a nation through dependency on the state?0 -

"We need protection from our own multi-millionaire, corporate terrorists, the ones who rip off old age pensioners, destroy the environment, deplete irreplaceable fossil fuels in the name of profit, deny the right to universal health care (USA but headed our way), take peoples jobs away whenever the mood hits them. What do you call a19 percent increase in homeless and hungry from 2001 -2002? Are these not acts of terrorism? Do they not cost lives? Is it not all part of a calculated plan to inflict pain on the poor and working poor, just so that a few rich men can get even richer ?"
Written in 2003 and referring to America's obsession with "external" terrorism.
I am merely showing this as an interesting take on a situation 10 years ago, before GFC.

I reckon that if you were take a strawpoll on the highstreet, most people would not have the foggiest idea what you were speaking about.
When would say this alleged crime of plundering took place?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

Post of 2013 right there Graham. They are pinned and wriggling on this simple fact and can only blow and bluster in response.0 -
