I've been wanting to move my Virgin Media wireless router for a bit to another part of the house but knew this involve cutting off the connector plug to the router, getting new much longer length of co-ax cable and then re-making a new connector....possible but tricky.
Phoned Virgin Media who said they'd happily do it for £99.00
So... went to local shop, bought 1no. screw-on F connector (£0.79) and 1no. 5 metre cat5 network cable from Poundshop (£1.00) plus half an hour of my time later, I know have a nice stronger internet signal for laptops and wired connection to desktop pc..plus mega brownie from OH

I was woken up by a mystery shopping company this morning asking me to do a last minute assignment with a generous fee plus a free drink and £5 purchase so thats where I am off to soon. Will help towards my first 1% in January!
Other than that I need to make a batch of soup for work lunches next week and tidy up/clear out to find things to put on ebay whilst its free listing.
Swagbucks and survey companies already done this morning and signed up for a few mystery shops over the last few days so have those to do in the next 2 weeks including 2 meals out which will be a nice treat, especially as I will get the money back for them!
Hope you don't mind me asking, but I want to get into Mystery Shopping, what Company was it, and do you get much work?:o0 -
Morning all!
Its not raining :j:j:j (yet!)
Planning a fairly quiet day here.....- Walk the dog three times (2 big ones and a quick round the block one)
- Pick up neighbour's dog on this afternoon's walk to give him a walk too (owner has had a hip replacment)
- All food from stores
- Go for a 5km run
- Try my hardest for a NSD
- Mark some books - must get started on this or the first week back at school will be a nightmare
- Investigate mending a dripping toilet cistern (drips inside as if its not quite finished filling up, can hear it at night and its really annoying me now)
- Stick to diet
- Maybe start sorting out my wardrobe - could do with a tidy and chuckng out session (for the charity shop)
- Check budget to the end of the month
- Think about a birthday present for mum
Have a good day

Hello, everyone!
I dropped a few kg just before the holiday due to stress / surviving on snacks on my motorcycle trip, so am doing my best to put it back on through gluttony
I had the people that hosted me for xmas dinner over last night for a middle eastern feast, going to theirs tonight for a roast belly of pork **drool**
Wow WW you are a lovely neighbor
Pernie I agree you must do a safari before you die, it neednt cost the earth and is one of those things that makes you feel so lucky to live in an age of air travel. Obviously let me know if you decide to do it in Uganda
Busy day for you, Candy, good on you making a plan for the new year.
To do today:
- leftovers for lunch
- afternoon doing a bit of work from the cafe
- budget for January
- dinner at a friends - will bring wine or beers that I have in, depending on what they have
- seriously need to get grocery budget under control, so will meal plan properly with more veg on the menu
- get to gym before dinner, feeling some chubs already!
Hugs to everyone.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000

Hi Dogcat - sorry I don't know how to copy and paste the fancy box thing so I will just reply without it! I'm signed up to marketforce. I've got quite a few assignments over the last few weeks but I think thats because less people are willing to do them over Christmas and plus I'm off work. Most of the good stuff goes during the working day when I don't have internet access. I try to get an assignment a week if I can, but every little helps! Especially if you get free things that you actually need like supermarket assignments.0

Well, I tried to renew the bus passes at the bus station yesterday and got into a row with the sales assistant who refused point blank to let me renew the passes with a start date of 7th January 2013 before the prices go up on wednesday despite me telling her that I had been advised by another bus pass sales outlet that I would be able to do this. Have sent a furious E mail off to Metro re this as am so unhappy about being given conflicting information by their staff and will try to renew passes at another outlet tomorrow where hopefully I may have better luck. I know its only a difference of a couple of pounds in price but even so every penny counts for me at the moment!!!!loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0

If anybody has any time this afternoon then it is well worth a visit to the supermarket. Their shelves are bursting with reduced to clear stuff as people haven't been buying much this week. I have just got back and bought 39 meat portions (pork, duck, chicken, pies, meatballs, sausages etc) for £12!!!! So thats my freezer stocked up for the next month as its just me in my house plus my boyfriend to feed a couple of times a week.
I hardly made a dent in the stuff they were getting rid of so plenty to go around. I would have bought more had I got a bigger freezer thats not full of blanched veg!!0 -
