When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :j

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Morning Gang

Hope everyone is well? Hugs to those that need them and hi to all new members

Though I'd start the thread today as I've got a ton of things to do today !

Today I have/will do:
  • Meals from stores
  • Checked online banking - no change and dd's have not gone out so moved money back into higher interest bill account
  • Need to have a shower and pamper session
  • Have made a plan for the next year - decrease (unpaid) working hours and increase health and happiness :-)
  • Arranged with a friend for her to pop round and attach a new needle in my sewing machine and show me the basics of quilting - part of the destressing exercise !
  • Need to look into a dress pattern for a party in October for my inlaws anniversary which can also be worn at Christmas
  • Need to do some college work
  • Need to watch bits n bobs on the sky box rather than going out
  • Need to get the tape measure out and try not to weep
  • Moved change from my purse into the coke bottle
  • Need to list my old textbook on playtrade - didn't do this last week
  • Obsessively check my mobile as waiting to get a new bundle
  • Washing on fast wash and air dry

Think that's enough for now, take care everyone

    Today I'm going to try and go into town and buy new bus passes for my children. I've been advised that prices are going up on the 2nd but that I can still buy them at the old price even though the children don't go back to school and I don't need the passes to start until the 7th of January if I do it before the start of the new year!!!! Just hope that the bus station sales staff who are not a particularly helpful bunch at the best of times will let me do this!!!!!!

    I was woken up by a mystery shopping company this morning asking me to do a last minute assignment with a generous fee plus a free drink and £5 purchase so thats where I am off to soon. Will help towards my first 1% in January!

    Other than that I need to make a batch of soup for work lunches next week and tidy up/clear out to find things to put on ebay whilst its free listing.

    Swagbucks and survey companies already done this morning and signed up for a few mystery shops over the last few days so have those to do in the next 2 weeks including 2 meals out which will be a nice treat, especially as I will get the money back for them!
  • Morning :wave: thanks for starting us off Candy good luck with the sewing!

    My list for today:

    * check banking & shift some funds
    * all meals from stores - turkey out of freezer for fajitas
    * quick tidy-up
    * going to visit ex-mil with dd - will walk rather than drive
    * oh pva-ing the wall and 1st coat
    * dd wants to go into town and spend her Christmas money - may do that or save it for tomorrow. Must resist buying myself anything....
    * if go into town try to return jumper for ds and buy another
    * film tonight

    that's it for me I think. Have a lovely day x
