Like I have already said, we only slept together twice...it was after a family wedding and we were both drunk and I suppose....a bit too familiar. Since the shock pregnancy I have probably seen him for a good 2 hours in total...an hour of that spent at the scan.0

Ummm... could you just not tell everyone you don't know who the father is... might be easier.... might make life less complicatedLike I have already said, we only slept together twice...it was after a family wedding and we were both drunk and I suppose....a bit too familiar. Do you mean make a false declaration in order to secure benefits? Wouldn't that be just a tiny bit... well... fraudulent?0 -
well yes - but with lives so complicated - if she isn't sure, she was very drunk.....lighting_up_the_chalice wrote: »Do you mean make a false declaration in order to secure benefits? Wouldn't that be just a tiny bit... well... fraudulent?0 -
HMRC won't suspect a thing given that you've been split for over 12 months. Ignore this lot here with suspicious minds, what do they know! Just tell HMRC that it was an immaculate conception (it is Xmas afterall), they won't question how you suddenly became pregnant long after the split with your boyfriend. They won't for one minute think that you and your long gone ex are trying to fiddle anything.......Lol, I don't need you to tell me that
trust me, another baby was the last thing planned for me and the kids but it's happened, I've accepted it, work were ok about it and everything will be fine....unless I lose my tax credits x
(PS. Given what you have typed here I think it may be a better course of action to seek maintenance off the father via CSA etc before trying to bend the rules for tax credits but your choice)0 -
I don't think HMRC ever ask who is the child's father, it's certainly not a question on the forms and when my daughter rang to tell them she had had another baby they didn't say oh and who is the father!0

I left my children's father when I was 18 weeks pregnant after suffering domestic violence. I advised TC that we'd split up & a new single claim was put in. When my daughter was born, I just informed them and they didn't ask any other questions, even though I was expecting them to do so.0
