New Orange Mobile PLEASE HELP

Looking to renew my Orange mobile in the forthcoming months.

However looking to take my contract down in price to something around £30 a month and with nothing else on top...maybe one or two quid when I go over.

Looking for the brand new flashiest phone to be honest which will keep me in good stead for another year.

Currently got a Sony Erricson Walkman thing which I got a year ago and starting to be a bit dated (not sure of model number but it is white with the side orange - your bound to have seen it)....basically quite disappointed with the speed it takes to take a picture and also the quality on video footage is quite poor with sound being terrible. So would like a decent one even the current camera is meant to be 2.0megapixel.

Contract wise I also need around 400 mins and 400 texts.

The majority of my calls however are made to my girlfriend as she lives a hundred miles or so away and I am constantly on the phone so think that magic number may come in handy however I believe it is only on a 18month contract and don't want to be stuck with the same phone for 18months or is there a way to upgrade phone for free after 12 of the 18 or are you just stuck

Could anyone help me out???

CHEERS!!

  • One option would be to get a 12month contract on Vodafone, for £30 you can get 200 minutes, 500 texts. Then add on Vodafone family for £5 per month and you can call 3 other vodafone phones unlimited. Of course this would mean your girlfirend having to change to vodafone too. Details of Vodafone family here

    Hi MW84,

If you want to stick with Orange their retentions dept should be able to offer you a discounted deal - especially if you've got quite a high contract and have gone over your minutes a few times in the last year as you seem to have. They've been offering £15 p/m off their regular 18m deals at the moment so you could get 300 mins/400 texts for £15 p/m or 600 mins and unlimited texts plus the magic number (and free broadband if you want it) for £20 p/m on this deal. There aren't really any tariffs that match 400 mins 400 texts though. You can see all the deals at their regular prices HERE.

As far as 12 month only deals go I'm not sure how much they discount them and I don't know about upgrading the handset early either but it's worth asking them I suppose. Just make sure you say you want to cancel when you ring up so you get put through to the cancellations/retentions dept as they are the ones that can offer the best deals. You should be able to get most high end handsets with these deals (ie w880i which is an updated version of the w800i you've already got.) As far as the handsets go though it really depends what's most important to you - camera or music player etc. If you've unsure I'd say go into a shop and have a good look at them all and try them out. Good luck.

    Regards

    Michelle
