toyota vs arnold clark

I think above is the reason I paid upfront for 5 yrs servicing at Kia, I can't see anyone else doing full services for £100 a throw plus you have to ask if it affects your warranty in any way by using non Toyota parts.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Where have Arnold Clark plucked their £391 from? A full service at Toyota's fixed price is £199 as shown here http://www.toyota.co.uk/cgi-bin/toyota/bv/generic_editorial.jsp?navRoot=toyota_1024_root&fullwidth=true&noLeftMenu=true&forceText=%3Cnone%3E&edname=Owners-Service-Servicing&zone=Zone+Ownership&id=Owners-Service-Servicing. Some items are charged extra though, e.g. pollen filter, brake fluid change. What is carried out at each service is shown if the appropriate "more" is clicked.
Methinks AC are trying to pull a fast one!0 -
oh...dear.....even if i go for the full one..its still only £269....and that seems to include everything.....
me also thinks they are trying to pull a fast one....
only problem is ac are the only ones about now..:(0 -
From experience, the Arnold Clark service will be an oil change with the remaining 100 points being "Check Brake Bulb, Check Reverse Bulb, Check Steering Wheel Turns".
I bought a car at Arnold Clark before with a service plan, and after asking what was done I understood how much of a con it was.
Same goes for their Autocare Warranty... on my last car which was 4 years old one of the doors wouldn't open from the outside. I called up and was told I'd be charged an inspection fee of £75 and if it was covered by the Autocare Warranty I'd be reimbured. That door stayed like that until I sold the car (Back to them) but the replacement was ordered with NO extras from them.0 -
All I'll say is that Arnold Clark have a "mixed" reputation.0

Scotland is a big place, try these.
Helensburgh Toyota - http://helensburgh.toyota.co.uk/
Western Toyota - http://westernedinburgheast.toyota.co.uk/
Dundee Toyota - http://struandundee.toyota.co.uk/
The alternative is that you go to a specialist. As most of the SEAT dealerships local to me are Arnold Clark, mines will be going to a local VW specialist.0 -
haha specifically im in glasgow. the only toyota specialist shut down last year. otherwise i would def have gone to them. infact i did for 8 years. so sad that they closed down...0

There'll be many independents who will be able to do a better service for the same or less than AC.
They're not known colloquially as Arnold Shark for nothing.
