we have one that has four prongs for different sized nuts, then you can put foot on other prongs for leverage, or a tube of metal for even more leverage.

An eletcric impact wrench or a long bar with a socket?

Impact wrench the 24volt Clarke one from MachineMart gets good reviews.
    Not cheap though.

Just a bar. You can pick these up from the supermarkets with an extending handle and a couple of sockets to suit most cars.
    £3 - £8 ish..

Your car should come with one in the boot...

If it doesn't then get one from a scrap yard you should get a 'single size' one ¬
like you get for VW, Vauxhalls and Fiats, i.e. not a four sided one +

Then you need to get a piece of pipe 10 - 18 inches that fits snugly over the handle, OR a bit of bar that will slide inside the handle...... you can usually find bits of pipe/bar if you keep your eyes open when you are walking around, look in skips, bins etc, and at the recycling centre they will have a metal skip where you will find bits of pipe. .......Then you got yourself a wrench that will tackle all your tight nuts.

If money is no object then one of these...

    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_196407_langId_-1_categoryId_165469

Halfords will replace it if you manage to break it.

Couple it with an impact socket (the black ones) to fit your wheel nuts and you'll have no issue getting any off. Be careful when doing them up though as you can very easily overtighten.

    Wilkinson 19/17mm combined < £5.

Or invest in a decent torque wrench for about £30 on eBay.

I got an extending one like that from ALDI or LIDL for £3 or £3.99 ?

    Big supermarkets also do them.

Them extending el cheapo 2 way Socket 17/19mm extension are ideal....Plenty of levarage and easy to stow... I've 2 Ebay Specials that have been abused on various Agri wheels out in the field with the 1m Scaffold pipe making it have it with plenty up and down jumping of 17st fat sod. ....... Personally for car use I'd happily use one, that or a Teng breaker and right size socket.

At HomeI have air piped in the shed for real real abuse from when my old man ran a truck or two and work has a a piped air set up failing that I've a 24v Clarke one I bought second hand aswell... 450Nm Irc... Handy when I remember to charge it ;O) Read !!!! hot reviews aboout Snap on Ones but seeing as I dont see the man in the van I've yet to find out....

Go for the Wilkinson/Lidl/Aldi extending one. You'll be grateful you did when the time comes to change the wheel as they may be overtightened or have some corrosion that makes it near impossible to initially turn it. Just remember to tighten up without the extension or you may overtorque/strip the thread.
