Have freesat on sky with no account on sky.
Have box correctly setup, latest firmware downloaded, and showing as ondemand
No menu icon for iplayer appears, or any other ondemand service.
Does ondemand need activated by sky customer services, and how do you do this without an account, and not giving a credit card number to sky.

I would say the on demand is a service for Sky packagesAll at no extra cost to your Sky TV subscription

No subscription no On Demand, Catch up or recording services.
Catch up and On demand are downloaded to the harddrive, since you have no subscription that facility is disabled.
Better go for YouView. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
HD Pack required for HD content. Sky TV subscription not required for BBC iPlayer content

thanks for the clarification.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
If you have a laptop just plug that into your TV and watch iplayer that way.0

I think the way Sky see it is that it that Sky+ included as 'free' on all Sky subscription services. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Just noticed that if you have a Sky TV subscription you don't have to activate for the ondemand service it any more just connect the box to the interweb. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
