Spot on Katgrit but you forgot the "when does the 90% off start?" asked by the person who hid a S&G giftset behind the nappies.

I ordered some stuff from them that will be avail 3rd January to pick up at my local store.

I've changed my mind about wanting it (buyer's remorse:o )
When I go to pick it up, am I allowed to say I no longer want it and would like a refund, or not?

I spent just over £70 online then realised I used the wrong credit card details (OH distracting me, prattling on about something useless). Anyway, realised my mistake and got straight on the phone to ask them to cancel order, they said they couldn't! I had literally placed it ten mins previously. Emailed complaints department and was told to refuse the order from the Courier??? Would it not have been easier to just cancel it, they couldn't possibly have started processing it. I reordered it and used another card, so now I've got two identical orders arriving tomorrow and I'll have to refuse delivery of one. I'm sure I'll be very popular with the courier. :(

Don't want to worry you but how are you going to know which one to refuse without opening box to see the invoice ?

Funnily enough my store wasn't like this at all, just a couple of people and no queues outside at all.
Im after the soap and glory stuff, my store had 4 shelves full of the £60 sets, no way was I paying for it at even half price.

My local stores sold out of all Soap and Glory almost immediately this year. The Manager did say they hadn't been given as much stock this year. Thankfully I got a lot of stuff online, :)
  • Haha and just remember it is overpriced tat to begin with and even at 75per cent off it is still tat that no-one wants- thats why it's 75 per cent off! And if you stock pile the tat to give to your auntie or granny she will then give it to the charity shop (where some mser will buy it and recycle the never ending boots tat). I have a theory that it never gets used just passed as unwanted gifts from person to perSon (over 80 sets at school tombola from Boots this year alone).

Nothing says I couldn't give a dam about you and I couldn't be arsed to buy you a present more than a last year Boots set.

I agree! I was given a Boots gift set last Christmas which I knew was about 2 years old as I had bought the same set for my Mum when it was new that Christmas. My immediate thought about the sender was "cheapskate"! I also saw the same set on a tombola stall a few weeks ago! If I do buy in the Boots sale it is only for my own use as I don't know anyone who likes receiving smellies as a gift.
  • I think some of the boots sets are lovely and would be happy to receive one, especially the Ted baker sets! So are we thinking this sale might start on the 16th???

Ha ha! I have to say I have noticed that if you are collecting for a raffle or tombola after Christmas you will be inundated with Boots gift sets. I only buy them as gifts if I know it is one of the brands/lines that the person already uses.

The Boots at Bluewater was unbelieveably full of sale items, with cartons of gift sets being used as shelves for the thousands of unboxed sets on sale at half price. I looked at the contents of some of the Sanctuary sets, and the contents would still be cheaper in the regular 3 for 2 deals that they offer.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Thanks Katgrit - hillarious and sooooo true! Last year one group blocked the toy section in our store with trolleys and buggies and proceeded to clear the shelves into one massive pile at the back of the store where they then sorted out who was having what. The rest of us were pretty civilised and calm and had quite a laugh. Already booked 16th Jan off, and yes I'm excited but generally only buy what my own immediate family can use.

noticed that there are no toys in my local stores... is this nationwide?

I was lucky enough to grab some bargains in the 50% online sale but always like to replenish the toy stash for birthday parties etc
