when you say "I took them from a cd onto the hard disk"
do you mean took from an original cd ? if so thats your problem as you need to rip to mp3 format first

right click on the file and click properties ,it will then tell you what file type it is

Can anybody help?
I bought this MP3 player for my daughter for xmas. I made sure that it would be compat with my Mac for installation...it's does state so on the box!
When I connect to my Mac it shows an error message 'disk inserted is not readable by this computer' although the MP3 shows it as being connected!
If anybody can throw some light on this I would be grateful, otherwise it'll be back to Argos!
