  • Freebyfifty, sunshine sounds good, doesn't it? But on Friday it got to 45 Celsius. 113 Fahrenheit. Ain't nothing good about that; all you can do is hunker down indoors and watch the electricity bill spiral upwards as you run the air conditioner on full. And hope a bushfire doesn't come past your house and raze it to the ground.

That said, this WILL make you jealous: I spent the weekend tasting wine in the Barossa, an hour's drive from where I live, to celebrate my husband's birthday. So needless to say, no NSDs here, but the poor man has had a really crappy time of things recently and deserved a treat. Now I'm back at work for the year and things will get back to normal. Grocery shopping tonight, and then I am tightening the purse strings. My husband managed to win us a fancy coffee machine on the weekend, so that's taken away the last temptation to buy the stuff at cafes, hurrah!

Daydreamer and beanielou that's amazing! I am in awe. Well actually, of a lot of you. Look at all these high numbers.

    Morning everyone

Unfortunately another spendy day today but popping in so I can keep up with the thread, it's moving so quickly.

    Plan for today

Up and blitz the house, go food shopping, get petrol, come back for lunch, go to the cinema, pop and see the folks then relax.

    What a day.

(And hoping to get some lovely birthday pressies along the way!!:D )

    Have a good day everyone.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY EverTheOptimist.

I hope you had a lovely day and I'm really pleased you managed to speak to DH and he sent you a pressie :j:j:j:j

:eek::eek::eek: is all I can say to that armchair.... I've read that parts of Oz are suffering a severe heatwave at the moment and, reading your post, I think I'd rather be in the UK.

Hope you and your family stay safe x

    Yipee , managed NSD 2/15,

stayed in bed late as didn't sleep so well, went for a walk, even managed to get by the shop without going in. Trying to be realistic and hoping for NSD 3 tomorrow, but might save 3 in a row for next week as night shifts and tend not to be spendie. Planning..planning..organising.. thats my motto for the New Year:think:.

Armchair, don't envy you that heat and defo not liking the bush fires, mind you, would like a teeny bit of the sunshine. Its nice though to realise the NSD net:T spreads so wide.

    Hi all,

Checking in with NSDs #4, 5 & 6 and 6-in-a-row! :j Bought a scarf and some birthday presents using the money from unwanted christmas gifts today but as I ended up in credit on the deal I'm not counting it (and the presents were budgeted for anyway!). Back at work tomorrow so NSDs will probably be a thing of the past. :o

    Keep up the good work!
