    Good afternoon all :)

Well done BDINI on the new job, thats fab news :j and better money too, i'd be tempted to stick my tongue out at your soon-to-be-ex-colleagues ;)

Today wasnt a NSD, as i got an attack of the munchies for no reason. You know how they say to NEVER go food shopping when you are hungry? Yeah, well......:o Lesson learnt!

I am a bit unsure of whats going on with this job. She gave me the job, there and then, and said she'd call me on Monday to discuss it, but i havent heard anything at all from her :(

I think i might leave it until the end of the week, and then call her to ask whats going on. Where the HQ is based is very rural, so i am wondering if she has had problems getting in because of the ice and snow, and therefore cant get my contact details from the office....

Fingers crossed for you it is just the snow that has delayed your start date, it sounds pretty reasonable with the weather we've been having.... i'll be waiting with bated breath to hear that you've had good news!!

  • Hi Everyone

Hope your Wednesday has been good so far. I worked from home today and got loads done and guess what - 21 NSD for me. I received my barclaycard statement in today in it is now very strongly in the £2K mark which is great as it was too long in the £3K mark.

That said, I was offered a 0% deal on any balance transfer onto my Barclaycard for a 6 month period, I called them and they said as I've been paying back large amounts yes I could for 2.9% transfer fee.

This will be really good, I could get rid of the Halifax one and put all my debt onto the Barclaycard and clear. The only thing I'm a bit wery of is this. If I do take them up on the offer will the payments I make come off of the balance transfered and they keep charging me interest on the £2K untill all the balance transfer has been paid back? ie if I pay back the £2K over the next few months will they see this at the £2K debt cleared and then not charge me interest for the next 3 months or will I still be paying interest on the £2K over the next 6 months?

does that make sense or is it me?

Two Soups anyone?, Sir?, Madam?

I'm fairly sure that i read something quite recently that the rules around this had changed & that any payments now had to be taken from the balance attracting the most expensive interest first, which means that you'd get all your interest free period, i think it was on the back of a credit card statement actually, so might be worth checking yours to see if it tells you.... (& if you find it, please report back & let me know i haven't just imagined it!!)

OMG I don't know how you managed to get the sentence out without bursting out laughing. I wish we could have been NSD flies on the wall. Well done BDINI, you deserve it - and your 3 weeks to gloat - they put you through hell so they deserve everything they get :p

Make sure you enjoy every single day of your notice BDINI. Karma is so satisfying

How about 'I'm really grateful to all you small minded, bully-boy gossip mongers. If you hadn't made my life such hell last year I wouldn't have got off my !!!! and looked for a new job - and now I'll be in a better position and on more money than I was here' (accompany with suitably 'butter wouldn't melt sickly sweet' expression (think Dolores Umbridge a la Harry Potter)

Now that is class :rotfl: Wish I could think of lines like that
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh so close with 976 NSDs :j

Can we make the 1000 tomorrow?

I command every one of you to make today a NSD then come back and report it :rotfl:

Doing my bit to help, NSD no 12 today and I've reached my target. Could I up it to 15 now please.

Still feel a bit up and down, waiting for the antidepressants to kick in properly. I could so do with curling up in a ball and pretending the world didn't exist. It would make NSDs so easy lol

In August I had £3000 on one of my credit cards, today I have under £300 on it. It's a great feeling.:D
  • Ok, apologies that the update is a bit early, I really need to get another coat of primer on my drawers at 9pm, so thought I’s better get this in now before I get distracted & forget!!

& apologies for any typo’s, I have a love hate relationship woth my Stanley knife, which has resulted in a very large plaster on my thumb, which keeps hitting letters by mistake while I’m typing!!

Nice one, kerri - I am sure Bdini will add it to her list of put-downs!

Spendy day today, odds and ends to tide us over till the big payday shop next week. Am hopeful of another NSD tomorrow, though.

On my internet homepage this morning, on a link for Facebook, I was told in huge letters that 3 people have "unfriended" me, and invited to click to find out who these three scumbags were.
Which would really have ruined my day - if it weren't for the fact that I am not even on Facebook......scam, maybe?
I can see how social networking sites can cause upset and trouble. If I had been on FB, and had been "unfriended" (let's pray that ridiculous term does not make it into the Oxford English Dictionary) then I would surely have found out when I next tried to access those people's pages, so why the need to post inflammatory statements on the internet homepage, inviting trouble?

OK, rant over, kettle calling, cup of coffee required right now.

    Laters, chaps & chappesses!

I'm 100% sure that FB thing is a scam - you don't get a notification if someone 'unfriends' you on FB/

To my DM's despair I spent many formative years watching a combination of Jasper Carrot, Hale & Pace and Spitting Image (oh and the odd bit of Jack Dee and Ben Elton)....couple that with me being able to raise one eyebrow any my poor DM 'loved' my teenage sarcasm / wit :o

Well done on the cc :j can't wait to the end of this year where we'll have a number of things paid off and will feel like we're on the home strait (though shouldn't wish our time away)

Not a NSD for me, but not too bad - although a couple of buys I thought would be in store (as per MySupermarket) weren't
