Hi all,
very newbie.
Can anyone explain how, when I do comaparisons for broadband and I get a list of best suppliers, none of them live up to their advertised deals?
Sky was a recommend for no limit broadband at a good price, but when I enquire of sky, I am told that I can only get 40gb download per month and it will cost twice as much.
The same seems to be true for every so called provider of broadband.

I am finding this too, Not all providers can offer their best services due to the areas we live in, I am finding the best deals disappear when I enter my phone and post code! So frustrating. Not sure where to go now..

Presumably because you are both on exchanges where LLU providers are not available, therefore you are being offered resold BT wholesale products-always more expensive. An exchange search on samknows will show your LLU options, if any.
OP-you are presumably being offered the dire Sky Connect, which is Sky's non-LLU product? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Resold BTw products are only more expnsive on Market 1 exchanges and that is because of OFCOM regulations. It's OFCOM you need to complain to. This policy is now anti-competitive, the aim when it was introduced was to get LLU providers to put their equipment into Market 1 exchanges but it's now past it's sell by date. Some BTw resold products on Market 2/3 exchanges are more competitive than LLU.
Anyway, skintinlooe, I guess you are on a market 1 exchange, but take a look at Plusnet's current product range, you'll find little to beat them, especially with their UK customer service.0
