If you're a Uni student in your first year then you have at least 2 more years to go before you can earn full-time. By that time you will have an immense student loan debt around your neck. Why do you want to add to that by taking out more (higher interest) loans? I too am amazed as to the cost of your insurance quote. I would get a couple of quotes because you may have a big human error with those figures!!

No compulsory excess for a 19 year old? Definitely too good to be true.

I have called up all the insurers and my quotes are correct and no human error was made.
I stated i park my car in the street and during the day its in a open car park.
like i said i have stated i have had a crash once
my current policy is for a 2001 Golf 1.9 SDI for £1067 a year
    my car before that was a 1989 Mk2 Golf 1.4 for £1398 a year
and then my car before that was a 1983 Mini 1.3 for £798 a year
I believe the prices are £800- is because of the new law that has came in with gender issues.

i have never had any problems with my insurance being £2000+ except for the time i tried a quote for a delorean!! :P

The golf thats going to loose its value in jan, when the mk7 facelift is out. I dont belive the screen scraper has done your quote right, im in my 30s have an 09 mk6 gti and myn is £400
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

A diesel is only worth it if your doing the mileage, not sure if 60 miles a day is classed as worth it. Is the 60 miles you do to get to work ?

Diesels are not bad, however with the price of it unless you do major miles a year I wouldnt bother as their is zero saving
