  • Thanks Suzi :) I have been doing a few bits of volunteering - a few weeks ago i did some walking of the dogs at the local kennels and the past few weeks i have been helping in a cancer charity shop. The no sleeping thing seems to be after volunteering even tho it really tires me out being there. I'm wondering if its an anxiety reaction thing - exhausted but high levels of adrenalin or something........will have to keep an eye on the pattern.

How did your course go? and bet you can't wait to finish work :) xxx

Yeah it could well be, I am sure that will settle down as you get used to it though. Have you tried Barts flower remedies? You can buy them from Boots and they have helped me get though work, they still are helping :D The course is going well. I will be doing it until December so so far, so good :) Yep finish work on the 18th, it can't come fast enough!!
    Suzi, welcome back :)
Hi fairy - I don't unfortunately as I had a big clear out when I moved just before Christmas! But if I find anything I will let you know :)

I hope everyone is getting on well with the stepping? It's very quiet on here at the moment! xxx

Fairy I might have some pink PJ bottoms for you soon, they are cute so would be nice for kids blankets. Remind me in a few weeks. Im just getting a few more wears out of them! Old faves die hard!

Hi Ruby, it is quiet. i'm not really stepping at the moment, my big step for today was to hand my notice in at work which is all done. I have a few things I need to do but I can't rely on having time to come and post about it so jsut listing on my phone and ticking off that way.
I am current;y busy joining the no unecessary toiletires thread which means collating my stash, its taking time...fi you want me to share it on here for a laugh I can do, I think you all might keel over in shock though :-D
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D

Ellllllllo :) I had no internet for days :( stoooooopid bt don't they know i have to step lol!

Off for a wee catch up :) xxxx

Gosh it has been quiet on here - you all must have missed me waffling LOL!

Thanks re the jammies lookout :) and suzi just right to squeeze in some more wears :D

My volunteering has unfortunately taken a bit of a nose dive :( I had a bit of a wobbly the other day re anxiety and had to go sit outside for half an hour to try and calm myself. A bit embarrassing but i could have dealt with that - having people say i was faking it for attention cos i was feeling jealous on the other hand i'm struggling with :(

Right then, some steppy steps for today!

    nectar - add 50 points - done :)
cut out wedding bear - started
pack car for car boot - started
top up steering fluid on car - done :)
cut out some more squares for quilt
    check ebay - done :)
    free bingo - done :)
    do some tidying downstairs
clean filters to take to car boot

there is lots more to do but that will do for now :)

Good morning, I haven't been on much this week, as things have been so hectic with a combination of work, college and family. TBH I am feeling ill under the pressure therefore I have decided to stop trying to do so much in a day and tackle things in small steps.

    My small steps for today:
    1. Sort through course work and make a note of what I need to do and when it needs to be done by (I really need to start writing things in my diary):)
    2. Catch up with the laundry:)
    3. Spend an hour working on ironing mountain:)
    4. Spend some quality time with 2 youngest, as DS1 has gone to work with his dad:)
    5. Catch up with the various threads that I try to follow on here
    6. Make bottles for DS2:)
    7. Decide what to wear tonight, as going out with some friends:)
    8. Go on night out:)
    9. Sort out diary for next month - Work in Progress

I think that is enough to be working on today, Hugs to everyone who needs/wants them x
  • First things first - Minnie and Fairy, sorry to hear you are both feeling poorly and hope you recover soon. Sometimes it can feel so hard to see a way out of things and the pressure can get far too much. Sending you both lots of hugs xxx

Suzi, well done on handing in your notice, I only wish I could do the same!! And yes, please post your toiletries list, mine is shocking (a combination of bad memory and 'bargain' hunting!) so at least I know it's not just me.....

Ok, confession time from me - had a letter this morning from the Student Loans company, not a bad letter, just a statement of account. I took out the loans when I was at uni and have never paid them back since, and whilst there isn't a lot of interest, obviously it's mounted up in the time since I left (15 years!!) till I now owe them £7K. I've always filled in the forms, kept them up to date with my address etc and as my income's always been below their threshold for repayments, I've never had to pay it back. I couldn't believe it when I saw it though as I did forget to include that debt in my CAP Money plan - I am such an idiot :(:(

I guess I will have to call them on Monday and confess all, I don't know if it makes any difference to my debt plan as I wasn't paying them anyway, but will CAP be annoyed with me as I didn't tell them from the beginning?! I am mortified, they are such lovely people and I feel like I've cocked it all up.

In more positive news, I have Monday off work so will be visiting my local CAB to see if I can get any housing advice or find out where I can get some (thank you Fairy for giving me the idea!) and also I have joined the gym. It's £33 a month but I won't be able to go running outside much longer, it will be dark when I get back from work, so thought I could justify the gym cost that way. I 'celebrated' by turning the hot water timer off, that way I HAVE to go to the gym even if it's just to have a shower.....

Phew. Apologies for the long message fellow steppers, just had to get that one off my chest - I've had better days, especially as it was combined with a trip to Santander to find out where my new bank card is (my current one expires on Monday) only to be told there was a block on issuing me with a new card for reasons they couldn't work out. They think they've solved it now, but who knows?!

Have a good weekend everyone :) xxx
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j
  • Thanks Ruby :) I have had lots of nurturing from the lovely man and am feeling a bit better - i am not sure what to do about the volunteering situation right now but will not let it bother me - i can just not go back if needs be :)

  • Hi guys,
Will post the list once it is complete :-D
Off on holiday for a bit so I probs won't be stepping, might check in whilst I'm away though to see how you all are..
Fairy, if the anxiety continues then jack it in, you've given it a go and that's what counts. I am sorry to hear that someone thinks its for attention, how childish! :(
And thanks for the support RE. work, super happy that the worst is over, just another two weeks when I get back and I'm outta there, woop woop!
Love to all, speak soon I hope.
My step for today is packing...actually,
I may well be back on the morro to step in the morning before I go :-)
I have some loose ends to tie up before i leave

  • Sorry to hear you're not having a good start to the work, MMM. I hope the steps help and that you are having a productive day :)

Fairy, what a shame the volunteering isn't working out at the moment. Could you cut down your hours, maybe change to a different shop? I guess these are things you can discuss with your psychologist anyway but thought I would suggest it.

I bit the bullet and phoned CAP Money about the student loan and they were lovely, said it didn't matter anyway as I'm not paying them at the moment, so to deal with the debts I am paying first! Phew - I cannot tell you how relieved I was. I'm going to send them my statement anyway but it doesn't sound like it's as big a deal as I thought.

I've also had my gym induction and am aching already.....

Trying not to get too overwhelmed with stepping today as I'm enjoying my day off but even the thought of going back to work tomorrow panics me :( I've made a GP appointment for Friday morning to see if there's anything else I could do, maybe even a letter from them saying I'm v stressed would help make work see how much pressure I'm under. So, today's steps are:
    • finish the washing and hang it up
    • finish the washing up & tidying the kitchen
    • do some food shopping
    • make lunch for tomorrow
    • sort out the teetering mound of paperwork on the table
    • update my finances list
    • make an appointment with CAB, should they ever answer their phone.....
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j
