    Hi everyone,

Fairy - I am in awe of your list-making abilities as usual and shall be following your example very soon!! Suzi - I hope you are feeling better now :)

I know there have been a few references on here to a website which could help with anxiety, but can't find them again (can't find how to search a thread, am I being dim?!) so if anyone could supply the details I would be very grateful! xxx

Hello Rubyslippers, thank you I am phsically a lot better but I have had a horrible week filled with awful news so just trying to get on with things as much as I can.
I have anxiety problems with my new job, (which I am leaving soon hopefully if i can work up the guts to hand in my notice) and my mum recommended Barts rescue remedies. They are natural flower rememdies and have helped me quite a bit.
They are quite expensive but when I got mine they were on 3 for 2 at B**ts so they might still be on offer? The pastilles are very easy for a quick fix :)

Not really doing much stepping at the moment, I am just hoping to get my emails done this evening and list a couple've things on FB/ebay/gumtree.

Fairy if you see this this evening can you PM me some faceB selling tips please? or anyone for that matter I haven't sold on there before :)

Sorry to hear you've had such a bad week Suzi :( i hope things settle at work or you decide to leave - its horrible being in a stressful job and really not worth it!!

Selling on fb is just a matter of uploading photos into an album on a selling page or group. You put the price and details in the comments section. Feel free to add them to my selling page -(the selling cafe) if you can find it or i can PM you a link - i share the stuff for sale albums all over the place LOL! :D

Ruby - i'm not really sure how i'm feeling tbh - couldn't go to car boot today cos of anxiety but i did manage to do some craft stuff and cooking :) well desert making rather than cooking LOL:

Have things settled down now with the letters Ruby? I've decided to write about my experiences of the DMP and clearing my debt on my blog - its really odd going back over it all in my head and remembering how it felt back then!!!

  • Thanks Fairy, work is the least of it really.A close friend of mine decided she had had enough and took her own life last week so just feeling very hollow right now.
I am ploughing on with wedding planning as that is something to look forward to and does take my mind off things. Also going to make huge headway in my clutter as she was helping me sometimes and i want to carry on for her.
Thanks for the pictures of your crafting and cooking, I love seeing what people have been up to. I am going to start a blog today fairy, which site would you reccommend, i still have no idea where to start :)

I am soooooo sorry to hear about your friend Suzi! Its a really tough situation for everyone that. I've been close to people who took their own lives too - if you ever need to chat about it just PM me honey.

I'm glad you are finding some outlets for both distraction and your emotions - be gentle with yourself and let your emotions guide you xxxxx

Re blogging i would highly recommend blogger - i've used a few different ones and thats the easiest in my view. you can literally start in seconds by ticking a few boxes for templates to use etc, but you can change all that later anyway so just go for it! Am looking forward to reading it already :) xxxxxx

  • Oh suzi, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend - what a horrible thing to happen. Sending you lots of hugs xxx

Fairy, your craft and cooking stuff looks awesome, you must be very proud of yourself!!

Luckily yes, the letters seem to have stopped at the moment, although I did get a text from Natwest asking me to call them ASAP; I haven't yet as I didn't get home till late but will do it tomorrow. I did call CAP who told me not to fret and to refer Natwest to them if they're asking for more money - the payment plan is all in place and they're receiving regular payments - but I think it might be about my lovefilm subscription which they told me they'd cancelled but I suspect didn't.

Had a chat with OH last night about money, I have told him how much debt I'm in (the majority of it from before we got together) but clearly it went in one ear and out the other, as he thought it was £8K. HA! I wish, more like £25K (sob :() - he's mixing me up with his ex, flattering eh?! But, at least I'm being honest with him, his ex lied to him and he ended up hating her for it (she told him it was £8K of debt, it turned out to be £60K......!) so hopefully he'll see that as a good thing.

Anyway all, I'm off to earn some money to pay my car tax this month - hate paying it but has to be done! Happy positive stepping all :) xxx
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j

Awww thanks Ruby :) am more pleased i was able to get to the sewing machine again LOL! Have another quilting project plan too - going to make quilts out of old clothes/pj's etc and send them to Indian orphanage i did some volunteering with while i was there. Have some more squares cut out for that :)

Great news re the letters stopping :) am sure you are relieved!! I know it will still feel like a bit of an uphill battle atm with your debts but i hope you feel a bit more in control. BTW are you planning on paying extra off your DMP? if so i wouldn't - will explain why if you are ;)

Well done on telling OH too - i bet that wasn't an easy conversation!

Suzi - hope you doing ok today xxxx

    Right then plan for today:

    hmmmmm

do some flipping tidying LOL! - washed dishes and tidied living room :)
cut some more squares for blue squares quilt
go to psych appt - done :)
find book to take to psych appt - done :)
sort another 10 items to list on ebay/fb etc
    get them listed
do some work on book writing
update blogs - money one done :)
email another 10 people about blog (btw if any of you guys want to be added to my email list for the blogs just let me know :))
    clear out another 100 emails - 200 cleared :)
    free bingo - done :)
write myself a wish list of things to save up for

I think that might be it for now :)
    Happy Stepping xxxxx

  • Fairy, I wasn't planning on overpaying the DMP as quite simply I don't think I'll be able to afford to! If my outgoings reduce dramatically then I would have considered it, but realistically I can only do that by either getting rid of the car or moving to a cheaper place to live. I've considered both - if the car dies it's not worth fixing, and I'm on the council housing list - but the car's ok at the moment (touch wood!) and I can't leave my privately rented property for a couple of months, so neither is an option just now. But please tell me why anyway?!

Today's positive step was joining fat club - I considered it and thought I could justify the money until Christmas, as theoretically I can have lost my excess stone by then - hmmm, we shall see. I'll have to stop running in the evenings soon and am looking into joint gym memberships with the OH but fat club it will have to be for now, at least to get me back on track before the end of the year.

I hope everyone else has had a nice positive Tuesday xxx
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j
  • Just thought i would check with you Ruby - basically i wouldn't advise anyone to pay extra off DMP - if you start to make regular overpayments on DMP they will increase your monthly payments assuming you have more money than you said on budget.

Also I negotiated settlements with my creditors - most of them accepted 40% of my debt which is how i cleared my debt so quickly. I would recommend saving any 'extra payment' money and use it to negotiate with purely for that reason. I'm working on negotiating with last creditor atm and they are being annoying lol, but i will keep working on it :) xxx
