Morning all :) and big welcome to you Mavs :D lovely to have you join us!!! Good Luck with your first list! When you get a wee chance let us know what your longer term goals are as well (if you want to of course lol!) and that way you are able to keep stepping towards bigger achievements as well as daily ones :D

Today i'm going to start adding a focus of the week to my steps i think - i have been doing this a bit but more in my head rather than on here so am going to add that as a wee reminder each day to myself :)

Focus of the week: Health - I haven't really been looking after myself properly again, my diet has gone to pot, am doing no exercise, my medication regime is up the left as is my sleep pattern and my appointments are disorganised. Focusing on this will hopefully get me back on track and feeling a bit better again :)

So, today i would like to:

Sort out and check all my health appointments and add them to my phone calendar. dentist - done :) MHT, HRT - none in yet, Psych - waiting for call,
add a reminder to phone re ordering meds - done :)
eat some fruit - done :)
    find my water jug

    also to do:

empty the car - done :)
go to psych appointment - on my way in 5 mins - aaaahhhh car wouldn't start so had to rearrange this!
post ebay sales - parceled and taking them with me - done :)
    put clean clothes away
    wash dishes - done :)
sort more ebay photos for current listings
update double money challenge and dairy - done :)
check bank account - done :)
    contact nationwide re card

    usual dailies:
    swaggers target - done :)
    gift hulk - done :) 159.9
    UR - done :) $16.23
    app trailers - done :)
    tapporo
    one poll - done :) £22.60
survey a day challenge - gratis points 1350 & maximiles so done :)
clear out another 100 emails - done :)

if i get all that done it will be a miracle LOL! will try my best though :D

    happy stepping all!! xxxx

    Other things done:

for some reason i decided today had to be clean the fridge out day......don't know why when i have other things that are more important LOL but sure, its done :D

  • welcome silverfox :)

I know it's not easy admitting to yourself even that u have mental health problems so massive well done on that. hopefully now u will get on track to getting better :) I have severe depression complicated with early menopause and anxiety disorder, others on this thread have spoken about their mental health issues too so u know ur not alone! some days I struggle to get up and others the problem is going to bed so it's just about taking things one day at a time and doing what you can! I hope u find the thread useful :)

    my goals for today are:

    to stay in bed
    to drink plenty of water
to cancel appointments for this week
and to tell the norovirus I have to sod off lol!

am such a bad patient I'm wondering what I can do from bed today :(

Hope your feeling better fairyclicks, and thank you for the welcome.
Does the menopause make the symptoms worse, I was 45 when mine came on, hot sweats in the night being the worst symptoms. It's only been through reading others stories that have made me accept that I do have problems, it's just trying to get that over to my doctors.

Thanks, your inspiration to us all :T

For me the menopause made my depression come back - i was originally diagnosed at age 18 and was on meds until aged 28 - it wasn't until later i realised it was most likely to do with being on the pill. Menopause was a bit of a sudden thing for me - (problems with my ovaries) and so at age 39 i was told i was menopausal - they are still trying to figure out if i am at the beginning or end a few years later.......Depression was the first sign of menopause for me - started with bad PMT and gradually that got worse, have had the hot flushes, night sweats, put on 2 stone, various bits of me drying up :o and osteoporosis in my hips. I never knew there could be so many problems attached to a natural process! Anyway, after all that waffle what i am trying to say is for me menopause was the causal factor in my depression relapse - oestrogen is needed to produce serotonin ( the main brain chemical that stops depression) and i have a definite hormonal link to my depression. For others it doesn't have this effect or it may be less pronounced than mine, but yes there is certainly a link between menopause and depression/mood swings etc.

If your doctor is not listening to you re depression ask at reception or phone and ask for an appointment with a doctor who is the most experienced/specialises in this (though all doctors are qualified to deal with it, most practices have a few who work more in this area than others). Hope that helps :) - oh and if you need any info let me know - i ran a mental health service so i do know quite a bit about most mental health issues from a professional and personal perspective ;)
