To start the thread I thought it would be good to think over our goals for 2013 and share them :)

    Mine so far are:

    To reduce debt by £5000
To start exercising 3 times a week
To get rid of the boxes and boxes of stuff I have gathered up
    To join a sewing group
To lose at least 1 stone in weight

I will be adding some more as I think of them but those are my main ones for now! I look forward to hearing yours :)

I knew there would be more lol:

To do a business plan for my crafts and website
To get my car back on the road - Acheived 4th Feb :D
    To sort my daily finances
    Keep House Clean and Tidy
Get up to £1000 in my Zopa account

    Hi everyone

Thank you for starting a new thread, fairy.

My aims for 2013 are to sort my entire life out :eek::eek:

Okay, that might be a bit much to start with so I'll break it down a bit :)

To pay off ALL debt (currently £17,014 and DFD Nov 2014)

To make my flat as comfortable and pretty as possible (don't really want to live here, but I'm not really sure where I do want to live, so for now I've decided to enjoy here as much as possible).

    Quit smoking (again :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:)

Get as healthy and looking as good as I can (currently mentally and physically drained and looking a right mess!).

Get a social life (currently nil, zero, nada; the worst thing is I don't even want to do anything about it, I'm sort of happy being alone because I don't have to make any effort but I don't think it's good for me in the long run so I must start to be a bit more social) .

Work - not even sure where to start with this. It's a good job, I used to love it, but the pressure's definitely on and I think I'm burned out by it; I need to at least have some ideas about how I want to move it forward because I can't stand this for the next gawd knows how many years.

Okay, I think that's enough to be going on with for now :rotfl:

    Happy new year to everyone:)

Hehehe itsa I was tempted to write sort out my whole life too lmao!

I love your goals :) I spend a lot of time on my own too so that's one of the reasons I added join a sewing group - I don't drink and sometimes it's hard to find other things to do for socialising!

  • Can I join in the challenge too please? My steps for 2013 will be to:

1: Try and get rid of as much debt as I can as I owe around 8,000. I know compared to some its not a huge amount but its a huge amount to me!!!

2: Stop drinking Coca Cola ( I'm addicted to the stuff) and try to eat more healthily.

3: Try and get more exercise. I am so unfit its unbelievable and working at a desk all day does not help.

4: Get my house sorted out ( Its a bombsite!!)

5: Stop being so anxious and panicky all the time, try to stop worrying so much.
loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!

Thanks for the new thread FairyClicks :) I fell off the wagon a bit in the past few weeks but am determined next year to do better. My goals for 2013 are:
    1) To start saving money to move out
    2) To exercise more often (joining the gym in the new year and will get a discount working for the council)
    3) To complete my proofreading course (starting tomorrow!)
    4) Not buy any birthday/christmas/anniversary/easter cards and make them all instead - possibly with a view to selling some.
    5) Read a lot more (aiming for an hour a day at least as this is roughly my bus commute time)
    6) Learn to drive
    7) Eat more healthily and cook from scratch more often! (Written as I'm sat munching on a bag of crisps in front of the tv!)

Feels like a lot of things to aim for but I've never been so determined! I want more of my own space and at least the cards and proofreading could help me to save a bit more!!

  • Hi there :) I would like to make some changes to my life in 2013 so would like to track them and get kicked up the bum to achieve them... This thread seems like a good place to start! I have read your aims and mine are not as exiting I'm afraid... In 2013 I aim to:
1 - buy and move into a house with DS (we are living with my best mate at the minute, I sold my last house in the summer, it was my former marital home. Ex husband cheated on me and left in summer 2011, it took a year to sort out the house divorce etc but I have done it and now want a forever home for me and DS that is just for us, decorated and furnished the way I want it and not to please anybody else)
2 - Stay out of debt (despite becoming single out of the blue I managed to clear my debt in October 2011 and am determined to stay debt free by sticking to my budget and saving for emergencies)
3 - Have a clutter free home (I decluttered loads when I moved out of my old house but know that there are boxes of old paperwork, toys and clothes in storage that I want to get rid of. Tying into my first aim I want my forever home to be clutter free!)

I guess those are my aims for now, I am feeling positive about achieving them and about me and DS's future. 2013 will be my year!!!

Looking forward to seeing how we all get on :)

  • Can I join please.

I would like to feel more positive this can done by cleaning out my house and trying to be more organised.

I will also try to batch cook and meal plan.
I will also start to look at my career and look at where I want to be in the future :)
  • Ok so I know it's not 2013 yet but I thought I'd list some positive steps I've taken / will take today:
1 - done January budget, and as pay has gone in done online banking, put sufficient money in bills account and put aside savings for forever home
2 - will respond to 2 ebayers who posted me questions in the night on items I'm selling in the big declutter
3 - will make my sealed pot for SPC 6 which I plan to use for Xmas food shopping in 2013 and this helps with my aim of staying within budget and out of debt

Positive steps... Such a good idea for a challenge!

    Have a good day all
