hi have moved into a new house and thinking about getting sky for the first time to get the satellite but also to use for unlimited adsl and phone but can't seem to see cashback for this offer ( i think what would suit me is the £21.50 for six months, £28 for the next six) after which i'd revert to freesat i think. i dont need hd or fibreoptic broadband or extra chanels beyond the basic. is there any way to maximise cashback or any likely good offers likely to come along?
many thanks for any help!

Why get Sky if you are happy with Freesat?
Think about going with Tesco broadband or plus.net or any other cheaper broadband supplier directly and it will cost much less than £297 for the year. You will have plenty of change left over to get your own Freesat box with recording facilities. Sky's recording facility is disabled if you stop your subscription unless you continue to pay £10 a month.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

hi thanks -i'd do it to get the satellite dish installed and keep the box / dish as i don't have either at the moment and my topfield has just packed in. also need to get a new landline activated so looking at overall cost.
didn't realise they disable the record facility though...interesting -not in a good way...wouldn't go with plus as was unhappy with them cancelling the unlimited dial up offer about 10 years ago which i'd signed up for and my missus won't let me buy anything from tesco! quite keen to give satellite a go and this seemed a good way of solving my various problems..0 -
Is Sky available LLU on your exchange (if not, you'll get the dire Sky Connect (BT Wholesale product)? If yes, then the broadband is a good product.
As above, you'll need to buy a Humax Foxsat PVR after the 12m if you want to retain the PVR functions.
Taking Sky TV for a year just to get the free dish and LNB install is not very economic, since it will cost you about £250-a private install to use with Freesat would be around £120 only.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
thanks for the advice...sky is llu unbundeld at hove which is my local exchange. was on be value at my old place but seems uncompetitive going forward, is £120 a likely estimate for fitting then ...maybe i should go that way..i guesss the foxsat is the best box?0

For a dish and LNB with a twin feed, £120 is fairly typical, maybe less outside the south east.
Yes, the Humax Foxsat is the one to go for.
On Hove, Sky or 02 are the obvious LLU options. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
