HI, I hope some of you very helpful people can help with a little problem for me.

I got Flyboy11 his first mobile phone for Christmas, he is over the moon. It is a ZTE KIS. However, I have downloaded some music on to it, but it won't play.

It keeps coming up with the message: "sorry, this player does not support this type of audio file."

Does anyone have any clues as what to do?

As above, its sounds like the included player will only handle basic .mp3's and you've downloaded something other than that.

You either need to download in the right format, or if the phone allows it, install a better media player...

Thank you both for your replies, I have to let you know that when it comes to technology, I know beggar all, so treat me as a novice. :)

    The files are WMA.

No idea about what player is being used, it came with the phone.

Yes the phone can download apps.

I would have thought that WMA files are the most common type of music file and should be set up to play those files.

I think the most common format for portable players is mp3, not WMA.

Thank you all for your replies. Thanks Grumbler for the pointer. I have fiddled about a bit and discovered I can rip CDs as MP3 files and this has worked.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply.

    :)
