Can't install drivers for Epson Xp-405
Comments

You could install this to find where the folders are, most likely programme files, maybe app data
http://www.jam-software.com/ultrasearch/
Post back if you are unsure about deleting any it finds
Or, if you are lucky and you haven't installed anything else, try system restore to before you started with the XP-405.
The R300 folders can go if you do not use the printer anymore0 -
I'm totally lost. I've been on epson chat three times now.
They have given me links to download, they have given me scripts to follow with things to delete.
Now I get the error
Error
operation could not be completed

Thanks, I will have a read. I've just been on the phone to Microsoft for 19 mins and passed to two different people abroad.
In the end, they wanted £65 to see if they could mend my problem, so I said no.0 -
Well two hours later, it finally works.
I ended up finding someone who did remote assistance and paid him some money to sort it.
It works now.
He needed to change my admin settings, delete some folders, pinch some from my hubbies where the drivers were installed and he copied and pasted stuff.
it works, whoo hoo.
Thanks to you all for helping me0 -
Good to hear it runs now.0

I'm having exactly the same problem trying to install XP405 to Acer5742Z and my 'computer expert' had to admit defeat after trying for 90 mins. I haven't contacted Epson as it's weekend but sounds like they weren't much help. Any ideas ?0

Have you tried the network package, Oct 2012 as it is supposed to download the software the printer needs

Maybe best to uninstall any epson software for this printer before using the network package0 -
Thanks, but still not working. Not sure what to try now.0

I have similar problems getting the printer to communicate with Windows 7 computer and visa versa. I have 20 years of computer experience and I have not found an answer. I have contacted Epson and they just give a link to a useless help page.
Their suggestions have also been useless.
This printer is the most difficult I have ever come across to install and will never buy Epson again!:(0
