hey all.

I am looking to transfer file from one pc to another. I don't really want to spend much as I think I will only use it a couple of times

Is something like this any good, or does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives?

I already have a couple with not much memory but I want to transfer quite a bit of music, films etc

Invest in a firewire cable if both PC's have firewire, about a fiver off eBay

What about a simple crossed network cable, plug it on the network card of both PC, and share the files?

yup you want a crossover cable, depending on where you get it from can be as little as £1

free solution:

Assuming both pcs have IDE (or SATA) hard drive connections, pop the drive from the old one into the new one & copy away.

Albertross, I'm interested in the answer to this too. I've just bought a new Dell PC and wish to transfer my photos and music to it from my old pc. I have a Netgear cable router. How is this acheivable? Thanks.
