Virgin Nightmare! ! !

Options
I applied to go with Virgin to have tv, internet and phone line set up and was promised it would be done in July. After coming out to do it three times I still didn't have any services and then on the fourth visit the installer dry installed me (said he did it but didn't) and Virgin started billing me. They new of the problem in August but continued to bill me until my bank manager stopped it. Due to this they attempted to withdraw the bill causing the bill from my bank causing me to go overdrawn. When my bank manager spoke to them and they agreed to stop billing me (for services I NEVER had) they said I would be re-imbursed within 30 days. I have since sent them proof of my expences to two different addresses twice and spoke to them numerous times, in which I was promised this would be fixed by Christmas and I would be compensated yet I still haven't had anything sorted. Am I able to take legal action against them, as they have caused many sleepless nights and tearful days (when they were threatening to send bailiffs to my home) and have agrivated my already severe on-going health problems?

your bank manager, you mean a customer service advisor at the bank. Why have they not recalled the dds?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I suspect that the OP allowed a recurring debit authority to be set up, rather than a DD, so it could not be cancelled by the account holder. Big mistake if so, never set up an any account with such an arrangement.
If so, the DD guarantee does not apply.

No - incompetence is allowed. However which services were not provided? And if there were shortcomings, why were you not pursuing them in order for them to compete the task? You share the responsibility to chase them to fix things, and yet you only appear to involve your bank, not the cable company. Why?

I find the very existence of a bank manager rather surprising these days, let alone one who will handle my utility disputes for me!
