Hope all goes well at the docs today MP2K, don't feel a fraud - you're doc wouldn't prescribe you something they didn't think you needed xx

Had a cry in the doctors, she's prescribed me the same tablets I had before, Her opinion is that I came off them too quickly last time, add that to the stress of my accident in August... Will have to see how thing go.
morning unable to sleep will be tired later.

moneypenny . hope you get on ok at the doctors today. you did well resisting the temptation to buy that scooter. children have plenty especially at christmas time. im the same with my dgd you see things that you think they will love but you have to keep in mind your challenge. they would enjoy you playing a game with them just as much. mine love me reading stories with them and teaching them how to knit etc.

you sound like you have a lovely caring daughter its only natural that she will be worried about you im sure you would be if the situation was reversed. its good that you have some one to keep an eye on you does she live nearby and do you see her often.

i feel like i have a cold starting how annoying when im due back to work tomorrow. I have to take youngest dgd to doctors for her injection later today her mother is squeamish.

have a good day and take care
    :):)

Hope you weren't too tired couldsave, Yes she's a lovely daughter, I'm just sad that I'm watching her make the same mistakes I made at her age, it's all part of the stress, her bf is a bully, doesn't hit her but has brainwashed her into believing she's better off with him. Anyhow, not going to go into that now, she's a grown woman I can't make her decisions for her, no matter how hard it is to stand by and watch.

Hope the injection went well. :)

I've deliberately signed up for a couple of mystery shops which will get me out of the house, Did one this afternoon, Went over the ferry on foot instead of in the car, it meant that I walked for a couple of hours instead of sitting in front of the telly or the laptop. Hoping I'll get some sleep tonight.

I'm a bit peeved with myself that I've been ignoring the fact that I need to get a landlords licence for the 2 properties that I let out. Still at least I've faced it, so £300 spent today which I had to put on my credit card, so pushing back the debt free date. The alternative is paying £1000 at the end of January, no contest really. Trust me to live in the first borough in the country to introduce mandatory licensing for all private landlords

Been doing the 2 pot thing that was mentioned in the NSD challenge, can't remember who it was that spoke about it. All coins over 20p go into one pot at the end of the day, They are used for treats. 20ps and smaller go into a second tin to go off of the debt. Have got £12 in the treat pot, less than £2 in the debt pot. Maybe it should be the other way around?
  • moneypenny at least the doctor could see how you are really feeling instead of you putting on a brave face and the doctor not quite getting how low you are.

my dgd really cried having her injection bless her she had 3 she was fine half hour later.

regarding grown up children all you can do is be supportive they will live their lives how they wish you cant change things I have a problem with the way my son lives but he will do what he wants but im there when he needs me gets me down sometimes but its his life.

yes i was tired yesterday but slept well last night, i nearly always get up early. back to work today looking forward to it as need the money to come back in get paid mainly in cash so no work no money.

good luck with the mystery shop it will do you good to get out the house for a while. you say you are going over on ferry do you live near the sea

its great that you have other properties that you let (not so good that you have to have that licence now) does the rent cover all the costs of them.

have a great day it seems mild outside at the moment and not raining but I'm not holding my breath on that one

Hi CouldSave, you are an early bird aren't you? I managed to get to sleep for 2ish this morning and got up around 9 so much better than the last few days. Have realised that my flashing alarm clock isn't working (I wear hearing aids so need a visual alarm) Thankfully, it was provided by the council years ago, I rang them today and they are able to replace it thus saving me a cost of at least £50.

I did another mystery shop and decided to do my main shop today as well so not a NSD for me, No I don't live near the sea :rotfl: I live in very built up inner London and was referring to the Woolwich free ferry which crosses the Thames from North to South Woolwich. I still love going on it though, big kid that I am.

Anyhow, finances, Tosco's were having a sale on cat food so I bought 4 x packs of 12 tins of cat food for £2.59 each so just over a tenner spent and 6 weeks worth of food bought, BARGAIN :money: Also found a mini bottle of wine and a wedge of cheese in the whoopies aisle for £1.31 so treated myself :D All my shopping for the week done now, including stuff for packed lunch for work. Only need to buy bacon and sausages - will pop down to Lidl as they are so much cheaper there and better quality than Tosco. Will have to do that today to avoid tomorrow not being a NSD.

My old TV has sold on ebay, so that's another £90 to go onto the credit cards :j I'm going to go and have a hunt through to see what stuff I've got laying around that might be good to eBay.

Thanks for the support guys:) CouldSave, Shortie, Kerri I appreciate it.

Hey MP - just wanted to nip in and say hello. I never knew the free ferry existed - it's the kind of thing I'd love taking too. It's good the doc was sympathetic and sounds like you needed a wee cry too. Well done for going and addressing things - onwards and upwards now xx

  • I'm up early again, still it does give a quiet time to catch up on a few things.
moneypenny how are you feeling today. does it take long for tablets to work or are they a long slow type of thing .have you got any more mystery shops planned. Do you like doing them.
I like to stock up on things when they are on offer, we have a mini supermarket in the spare room, I have tried in past to buy 3 months worth when on offer but aiming for more now its just storing it thats an issue.

working again today then its the weekend may go and get shopping tonight or may leave it until tomorrow not sure yet .i thought if I go tonight I may get some bargins you never know but I will be tired .

what have you got planned for weekend. thought I would clear wardrobes out then start e-baying .
take care and have a good day

Thanks Kerri, starting to feel more human again thanks. Yes the ferry is wonderful, especially as I can see my flat from it, I always have to resist the urge to grab whoever's next to me and point saying, "That's my flat, I actually live there." I've always wanted to live by water and my flat is my sanctuary. I'm dreading having to sell up, but I will have to at some point, I live on the 3rd floor with no lift, The knees won't take it forever :rotfl:

Hi Couldsave, yes it takes a few weeks for the tablets to kick in, I think I'm feeling better in part because I've managed to kick myself up the jacksi :o The mystery shops are helping, they give me a reason to go out. Otherwise, I'd just stay in, read, watch tv and surf, so easy to do. I tend to do them in the school holidays for something to do and a bit of extra cash.

I had the opportunity to take my grandson to see Scrooge at the London Palladium, friend of a friend knows a guy that gets returns and sells them on for a fiver each. So as it's my grandson's birthday on Sunday I'm taking him tomorrow night. Also my gentleman friend is back from Xmas with his parents in Florida so I'll catch up with him

On the money front, I've received almost £90 for the LCD TV that I had for sale, so that goes straight towards the CC debt and the mystery shops that I've done, will also go towards it so that all helps offset that extra £300. I really want to be debt free by August if I can, but that means finding some extra money to pay extra above and beyond the extra payments I'm making.

So today's extra things to help DFD come faster

    • Did another mystery shop (got the bacon I didn't get yesterday)
    • Will have a sort out of my wardrobe, I'm tempted to sell my Louis Vitton bowling ball bag, will have to see what they go for on eBay plus a few other bits I've got laying around
    • Lunch and dinner from stores.
    • Any surveys that come my way. (Got a £10 Amazon Voucher today from Ipsos)
    • Had a look at the focus4people website to see if there's any focus groups I can do, nope, all during the daytime.:(

Time for lunch and half an our with my book (freebie from Amazon for the kindle app on my ipad) very :money:

Oh well in the absence of somebody to talk to, I'll talk to myself.

Still feeling very up and down, Feeling panicky as I'm back at work tomorrow and still not feeling wonderful. Doctor has offered to sign me off sick for a while but I think being at home would be even worse.

All my ironing is done and sandwiches for lunch made and frozen. Mind you we have a cooked breakfast and lunch at work for free on inset days so won't need to take one in tomorrow.

I had some sweet potato mash in the fridge which really needing eating up today so had that with a frozen portion of braised steak in pepper sauce and carrots. Jelly and fruit for afters. I really can't understand why people pay so much money for those little pots of ready made jelly with fruit. 40 odd p each when I can get a tin of fruit and a jelly and make 6 or 7 portions for 90 odd p.:money:

Trying to make sure I'm organised so that even if I have a bad day I've got food that's easy to do rather than end up with a take away which would waste money as well as be bad for me (put on so much weight comfort eating over the holidays) so tomorrow I'm having left over Thai green curry for dinner and I'll cook Tuesday nights dinner tomorrow, thinking spag bol so got some mince out to defrost in the freezer overnight.

Money wise, I've managed to find a few bits to put on fleabay, They probably won't raise very much but even a quid is better than nothing. Anything that doesn't sell will be relisted at a later date. Very surprised to find a print server in my cupboard, no idea how I got that. Never been out of the box by the look of it.

I've had a no spend day today and have money in my purse for the rest of the week. Often don't spend much on a work day as I take food in. Have taken all the coins out of my purse and put them in the tin ready to be taken out and paid off of my credit card when the tin gets a bit heavy.

Still waiting for the guy who bought my old TV to pick it up, want to get in the bath and be in bed with my book so I can try and relax and get some sleep before tomorrow.

Hope your first day back went on MP. You're meal plans sound lovely - room for one more? ;)

Fingers crossed with the fleabay items, it's funny how the things you think won't sell do, and the things you expect to don't. If they don't go this time don't give up, relist them on the next free listing weekend (if the starting price is over 99p). I've had several items that I've not had a sniff of interest for at least 4-5 times, then suddenly sold.

Hope the guy turned up for the TV in the end x

  • I'm so annoyed did a long post earlier and its vanished.

    so I'll start again.

hope you have had a good day at work. i understand the panicking feeling about going back to work. i used to feel that every night about work until i left im sure it may not be for the same reason but the feeling is just the same. but its good to get back into routine and helps take the mind of other things.
