You want some advice about eyesight. Here it is then.

Go and see an optician. Now, who would've thought it.

And Congratulations, you are now branded on here as a benefit basher, it will haunt you for years.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

    - you have had explained to you that close to 40% of the nation has an astigmatism and deals with it without drama
    - you have had explained to you that a diagnosis so late in life suggests you may benefit from a second series of tests
    - vicki x, its been suggested, [reasons in #3 onwards] that you go to an ophthalmologist for a second opinion

Most high street shops will be open tomorrow, find the truth of your condition, go to a different shop / optician tomorrow and find out if the diagnosis was correct. You never know it may put your mind at rest one way or the other. You have to do this yourself - no one can do it for you.

    Best of luck vicki x

if you actually read some of the posts they are taking the michael out of me i dont find it funny at all,and whats with the evidence quote what is wrong with people has this turned into a court trial lol, what bout the drug users, alcoholics fat overweight lazy people claiming benefits why dont you all have a go at them or the bad back people and mentally ill who have takin drugs or alcohol all there life they are not entitled to any benefit under any circumstance if we are all going to be nasty then i may aswell join in

Not everybody who is mentally ill has taken drugs or alcohol. Mental illness is very real, and in many cases is a serious disability. Even children can have mental illness.

Instead of hurling insults or asking for medical advice, can I suggest that you do as others have suggested and make an appointment with an optician for further help.

they are not in my opinion entitled to benefits in any shape or form there are many people who have genuine disability's that they can do nothing about these people have brought it all on them selves did anyone force them to take drugs, drink eat no and if it comes across as bitter then so be it but i am fed up with people having a go at others on this site and i though if you cant beat them join them and i cannot and would not claim benefits for my eyes i have already said that several times you can not judge someone on a few lines written on a forum but you and others have all pre judged me so i though i would give my opinion on what i think of people in my opinion and thats all it is bitter or otherwise

That post is actually quite nasty. Do you ever consider that people who become disabled can't exercise to keep their weight down? Mental health is a proper illness, whether you like it or not. Many addicts have mental health problems too. And as for those who have a bad back. Seriously. I wouldn't wish illness on anyone, especially having found myself with a spinal problem, but posts like that are just plain nasty.

Any person suffering from an illness will be entitled to the appropriate benefit if they meet the criteria, it's not about a specific condition. Just google ATOS reports and you may see the hoops that sick people need to jump through to get their benefits

i firstly would like to apologise to all those i offended i felt an innocent though possibly badly worded post made me out to be a benefit scrounger and i am not which made me angry and upset and i said things in haste that i should not have my feelings towards alcoholics and drug users and dealers is personnel and should not have spilled over on to hear,i also have nothing against disabled overweight people my issue is with overweight people who claim when perhaps there problem is just to try and loose a few pounds, also i have never made an issue of people with mental health problems in my mind being an alcoholic and drug user is not the same as having mental health issues but i am not a trained doctor and would never pretend to be my father was an alcoholic and died at the age of 63 he was never mentally ill unless you include the legacy he left which really was making everyone else mentally ill,but once again i apologise for those i have upset beleive me all i wanted was a bit of eye advice and yes i have been to the optician maybe a 2nd opinion is needed but not to claim any benefit

In my area 100% (ie every single one) of the female prostitutes being treated for heroin addiction were victims of child abuse. They had terrible childhoods. Their addiction, alcoholism and crime are all tied in with their mental health problems.
