My partner banks with Barclays Premier, We are getting a joint account for day to day. He will be adding me to his current account. I jsut got a few questions
- Will I be credit scored, as he has a personal reserve and buffer
- Is it easy to add me on? or would it be a new application?
- I don't earn as much as my boyfriend (He is eligable for premier) will that affect his current account?
- Do I need any ID as I fell out of my parents and kept my birth certificate/passport (and its now probs shredded)
- Anything else I need to know?
This is a Christmas present to me, A joint account means alot to me. I just have lots of questions.

You will be scored
It's not hard, it's an application, but his premier service team will walk you both through it
Your earnings wont affect it, so long as they decide that you are eligible - YOUR CREDIT FILE WILL. If you have adverse information on your credit file, you'll be linked, and you'll both be scored together on future applications that you make. If you have issues outstanding you may want to look at your credit file before you proceed. If no, great, off you go.
Imagine they will identify you electronically, but you may be asked for 3* recent bank statements, passport, d/l etc.0 -
So it'll be his premier manager that will sort us out? He seems nice
My credit file is fine, I've got an Orange mobile phone and an overdraft that isn't used.
Will they mind I've recently switched jobs?0 -
No, recent job move unlikely to matter.0

This means that your credit score at Barclays depends on various factors that they (their computer in fact) take (or don't take) into their consideration: Credit Ratings
If your credit file is fine, you are registered on the electoral roll, have not changed address recently and the details in your application perfectly match those in your credit file, the computer is most likely to decide that you are eligible.0 -
I moved in with my boyfriend about 18 months ago, is that good or would it be bad?0

Don't worry too much, Mrs Chiggles was in a similar situation and they didn't really care at all despite her earnings being a lot lower. As long as they see one high income coming in a month they really don't mind. Enjoy the free drinks in the lounge when you go on your hols!0

I didn't know about the free drinks in the lounges, (I always thought my partner had some deal going)
I really enjoy when we go in going upstairs in our branch to the premier lounge and getting free food haha0 -

Perfectly possible to get such 'free lunches', without changing your banking habits at all.0
