Tesco Direct- COMPLETELY USELESS

Twice now these idiots have done this to me....

Bought some pyjamas from tesco direct. Tagged correctly as size 16/18 but the label says 12/14. Nice one tesco - xmas eve so its a bit late now.

Quite how tesco manage to spew out such sub-standard items through tesco direct is beyond me. It happened a few weeks as well when they tried to sell me something else that was obviously 'used'.

I know mistakes happen but surely tesco are able to perform some sort of quality control? Thing is I dont think they actually care.

All I had last time was that od chestnut - bring it back then. Companies seem to think its ok to sell crap and then just tell you to bring it back when you complain - nothing lost.

Last time for me with these idiots!

It's a mistake, we all make them, and no more than mildly annoying.

A mistake? Well, if you want to bend over and take it.....

Like I said, not the first time this or something similar has happened with tesco. Big company - things should be checked before they are sent out.

This sort of thing should RARELY happen....

To be fair, they probably (like most individuals) rely on the hanger/tags being correct, given that when picking and sorting the staff* will likely be doing dozens/hundreds an hour it'd be very very easy to miss the fact the tag is different to the label (they may be trained to only look at the tag to save time - the tag is machine readable, which is what they'll use to tracking).

I suspect the paper tags are likely applied by the most junior staff (it's the sort of job that is mind numbingly boring, but very simple to do, so will likely get given to the newest staff), or possibly even at the warehouse/supplier.

I've picked up stuff in store at most of the supermarkets/large chain retailers and noticed that either the hanger cube, or the paper tag on the clothes are wrong, sometimes just as I'm about to pay for them and I'm probably paying a lot more attention to what I pick up than someone trying to fill loads of orders in the most efficient manner possible.

It's annoying, but nothing really major or worth getting upset about, as one of the other posters says, mistakes happen.

  • Op my local store told me head office have introduced a new better service, at the time I was collecting my order that they said was available to collect but had gone astray. They had charged my credit card and said I could not cancel or be refunded until the item was located/delivered. my bank had to collect a refund 2 weeks later after I completed the necessary form.

vowed never to order from them again.

By definition the pyjamas were not tagged correctly

Fair enough, the one pair of pyjamas were not tagged correctly, but how do you jump from that to spewing out sub-standard items?

Happened twice to me now. Last time it was an item that was blatantly second-hand.

I would have stopped ordering from them when they sent the second hand item!

I have had to return things for arriving in poor quality (i.e. where so many threads have come off, a whole section would have to be resewn by machine), but Tesco have always been good to me in terms of putting things right.

The only irritating thing is I can have clothes delivered to a store round the corner from where I work, but I have to make a special trip to a far way big store to take them back if no good - some stores will let you pick up clothes there, but they don't take refunds.

In my experience, if you have a problem with Tesco - talk to them on Facebook. They respond straight away (during working hours).
