All cash offices have cctv in at all times and anything you do on pc is tracked by head office so I don't really see why they need to do a credit check on you, surely
they don't do a credit check on all cashiers. If your work is monitored properly then there is no way money could go missing.
I think the bit about a credit check might just be to deter some people from applying. I would have thought a criminal record check would be sufficient for the job.
if refused the job on a credit check then surely that would be discrimination. You could have friends who are armed robbers which would, to be honest, be the only way you could get money out of there.

I would not bring this up unless asked. It is none of their business, and it will be head offices decision (or an outside company) as to whether they are happy with your credit report, nothing to do with the HR people/manager doing the interview. Do not give them anything to mark as a negative against you.
They do a credit check to identify high risk people, which as you don't have excessive credit cards and are managing your debt (this is the important bit) you would not ( in my opinion) be a high risk employee.
The cash office will have full CCTV, be subject to regular internal audits and daily balances which will highlight any errors. Having worked in a Morrisons cash office you are in a really secure room, double lock delay doors, bullet broof glass steel plated doors etc. They can have extraordinary amounts of cash (though I worked there years ago when cash was more prevalent), and you could easily have in excess of £1m in the room with you.
Good luck!0 -
I was head cashier at Nat West for 10 years in the 70's and regularly had 1/2 million in my till to pay the wages for Clarks Shoes factory. I am going to go ahead and apply tommorow and if I get an interview then I will mention my credit history. Best to be honest at the outset.

Dtd on Saxo blue box of stuffing the big 240g for 8-10 people I think it says. It had a yellow sel of 64p with small letters of rtc on the sel. Usually £1.85. Think they are getting rid of this size.
Might be worth a look as paid to take away.
I did also get overcharged on some Indian multi discount selection of 5 meals but she noticed the multidiscount had come off!! That has never ever ever happened before that they noticed I would of only paid 25p for the 5 but they noticed the £3.50 discount and so I got nothing and she told the manager the multi discount still comes off.
Oh flip I will now be making sure the tapas and Indian selection on that double discount that are reduced go through the till at the proper price!0 -
