I fried the onions this morning for the stuffing but they were not the sort that make you cry which was a pity as I was hoping to get all of the tears out of the system.
You really have to concentrate on the here and the now and the future otherwise you could drive yourself demented.
We only have my dad left and he has been in the home now for just over a year so he as more or less withdrawn from the world.
Had a very long chat with eldest son this morning, 1st time in months. he is doing 12 hour shifts and will be for the next few days,up at 4.30 this morning, top brass have done the rounds this morning bringing the sherry and mince pies. I sent off his birthday and Christmas cards 3 weeks ago and none arrived so far, probably march now. Also no Christmas dinner this year with a family so his Christmas is a bit miserable. Just have to make it up to him when he comes home on leave next month, do Christmas all over again.
I've been fighting it for days but today I gave in to the dreaded lurgie, streaming cold, eyes seeping, barking cough lie a smokers cough, gasp for breath ...
But apart from this excellent day, time to start planning Christmas 2013:rotfl:
All our parents are gone and I was just thinking earlier how much my mum would be enjoying watching our kids today

this is my bit of the m6 and its a nightmare from junction 14 upwards through 15 and 16 and northwards and the same southbound, no end of accidents every week. We never travel on a Friday as its inevitable something will crack off, more or less trapped in Cheshire on a Friday unless you use a train.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Merry Christmas everyone
hope you are enjoying the day. Love to all xx

(If anybody wonders why I'll be on here most of the day as usual it's because it's just a normal day for me, haven't celebrated it since I lost my DH, and then 2 weeks ago I lost my beloved elderly cat, who had seen me through the last few awful years with his love and devotion, so there's even less desire to feel festive. But there's many people in the world much, much worse off than me so I'm not looking for sympathy!)
!! EDIT: I thought I was quoting the lovely snowy pic! My !!!!!! name is happy plums :rotfl:that's a nice fox image, Snap-ant, thankyou. Maybe it's time for a change of avatar.....:)
