Have seen them in Indian takeways but no a big crowd-pleaser. Not amazingly sure kebabs are as big a ting in Scotland - I suspect the fried food late-night takeway niche is already a bit well-filled with local delicacies.:rotfl:

It'd be a bit like trying to sell porridge to people who're already used to the sugar contet of Frosties! :D

we scots are definitely a bit more adventurous these days. :p

obvs the chippy is still v popular but many are run by other nationalities or have diversified so most also sell pizzas not just deep fried ;) plus kebabs. on our high street we have a traditional chippy, a chinese takeaway, a turkish chippy selling kebabs (many types), pakoras, pizzas, calzones, a grill serving a mix of chippy, pizza, indian, and an indian takeaway. we are a small village x

I think I need to go shopping with you, well done!!

A big massive thank you to everyone for todays wombling efforts and workings out. I stocked up on a few bottles of fizz, I shall post my results soon. Multibuy on pampers came back correctly, lost me £3 on APG, but I needed them anyway.

    I'm going tomorrow. ;)

Did you notice if the biscuits had been reduced further at our store when you went? Not sure whether to start at the little store or the big one early tomorrow.

Anyone remember this pink sparkler? ;)

Have drunk a bottle to myself while at a party earlier and now can hardly keep my eyes open even thought it was only 7.5%. Was my last bottle though. :(

I had a brief look, but didn't really pay much attention..sorry...amazing how much was gone though. Small foxes boxes were there and I bought 10 of the cheap xmas wrap which had gone down from 14p to 8p and was good quality.

Ignore reality. There's nothing you can do about it.
    I have done reading too!
personally test's all her own finds
  • This is the first I've really posted since before xmas, so I hope everyone had a lovely xmas.
I have been spoilt almost as much as the kids!!
My lovely OH bought me some ghds, a kindle fire and he is paying for a phone contract for me which was mega unexpected as he got me a htc sensation xl with beats audio headphones (not sure they will get used) I am so over the moon with the phone it is lovely and I can use my phone for internet when I am out and I have no bill to pay. Mse for me, as I have always used payg as I don't really use it enough.
Think we may have gone a bit mad this year though, our eldest DD got a samsung tab 7"..I wanted to get her a new laptop as she kind of needed one for school work, so she got that and she got a cool stereo. Wish I was as lucky as her when I was 12, but she is a good girl and she really wanted an ipad, but we felt the money was hopefully better spent on what we got her.
As usual my posts go on and on, good job everyone is asleep already.
  • In the last 12 minutes I could have filled a whole page, just for fun.
But I am saying goodnight to all you lovely people.
Good luck and have fun with all your shopping tomorrow x x

I got this one from Toscos when they double discounted stuff, I think I paid around £10

    http://www.tesco.com/direct/keter-pack-n-go-garage-storage-box-black-grey/211-8571.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=211-8571

My mum laughed at me when I took it to her house (I was living there at the time) she soon changed her mind when she saw just how much of my stuff I got in there.
I love it and you get loads into it.
I just need to figure out where it will be put in my new house as there is only a yard and most of it is taken up by the oil tank and boiler.
That was a great price you paid. I'll keep my eye on this and hope the price falls at some point...thanks

Chicken pakora's a less well know dish in Scotland, as it's mainly confined to Chinese takeaways. Meat dishes fill you up early and suppress your apetite . In Scotland vegetable pakoras are a common starter and I've seen it in fish & chip shops and pizza parlours and pubs as swell as more obvious outlets. It's not so filling but the sauce is really tempting (and hard to find outside Scotland IIRC)

I'd love to be corrected on this!

I live in Glasgow and can say that chik Pakora is very popular and also mainly bought in Indian takeaways.

    xx
