Evening all. Just got back from town, did Sada & Tosco. Very little in the way of bargains. Vanilla Twist got there before me, well done hun.:D Got some bits from the 99p shop, calendar, diary etc, and did an apg shop in Sada. I bought the Sally, glad to see someone posted it was still working, or it would go back for a refund
. My results due about 2145 hrs.
MIL just phoned, has a problem and I think she may have to go to the hospital, so told her to ring the on call GP for advice, and if she needs to go I will take her.
She's just phoned back, the GP is sending an ambulance for her. Ambulance cases take priority so at least that means she will get seen and assessed straight away and not have to sit for hours in the waiting area.
Better go now, will check in later.xSealed Pot Challenge No 9 516 target £250

Thats as funny as me loosing the car :rotfl::rotfl:, Hello BTW
I lost my car in the multi storey and after searching a few floors realised I had my dads car instead of mine:o, another time I popped to T's in a hurry and when I came out I didn't know what car I had driven so walked about pressing the fob at various vauxhalls until I found it, when I think about it I have always been a bit dizzy:DThe person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0 -

Four blocks for a fiver
Last day tomorrow for the dairy voucher and cheese stocks are getting low
Or does anyone have a better idea:)
This used to be my way of shopping - I used to be the expert on this sort of thing but don't really do T shopping anymore. Someone else has mentioned the BOGOFs, specifically the Lake District Cheeses on BOGOF (the Mild Cheese 350g being £3.49 or any 2 for 1). When you buy a BOGOF, the system counts the full prices so you only need to spend £6 (not £12) if all items are on T BOGOF.
I've looked at the Lake District cheeses and I hope I can help with some fillers too.
I thinking of a T PP vs A for you. (Don't forget there's also T vs S possibilities - it might be that T has some good diary BOGOFs that are more expensive in A but could compare cheaper vs S. You lose the 10% you would have had Av T (or Av S if S cheaper even after T's BOGOF), unless you do T v S on items not sold by A, but as you're gaining £3 off diary, this might not matter too much).
Looking at T vs A:
On MSM (and of course check sada.com the day you shop), the mature cheddar (orangey-red) is showing N/A for A (T £3.99 BOGOF).
It's been pointed out the Lake District Mild Cheddar (yellow) may work out better (T £3.49 BOGOF) - the Mild Cheddar version is also N/A for A. But how about a crafty mix and match? (This also gives you an extra item within the 8 minimum.)
The Lake District Extra Mature (purple) (350g) is £4.29 BOGOF at T but any 2 for £4 at A (according to MSM). However, even if you buy 2 of this Extra Mature, you're only going to get 29p back which would probably mean the 2x Mild Cheddar at £3.49 (N/A at A) would be cheaper - on the Extra Mature you're reset to £4 but the Mild would have been £3.49 (51p cheaper) anyway.
I'm thinking the following:
1 x Lake District Mild Cheddar (350g)
1 x Lake District Extra Mature Cheddar (350g)
I assume it's buy one and get the cheapest free at T, therefore Mild at £3.49 plus Extra Mature at £4.29 (= £7.78 towards your £12) but you pay £4.29.
And then, for buying only one of the Extra Mature, you're reset to £3 with the T PP (with the Mild Cheddar not comparing). Even if the T PP adjusts the T prices to reflect the BOGOF, i.e. £7.78 divided by 2 = £3.89, you still should get 89p back on the T PP for the comparison of 1 on the Extra Mature (which is more than the mere 29p back on 2 xExtra Mature, and also beats the £3.49 x 2 on the Mild Cheddar alone). You would have paid £4.29 minus the 89p towards T PP = £3.40. 9p better off than the £3.49 on the Mild Cheddar x2 straight, but you're also 80p better towards the £12 (£7.78, rather than £3.49x2).
Sadly there don't seem to be many other good BOGOFs (that give twice as much as you pay to the £12) on T vs A, and you need to avoid the BOGOF on solely Extra Mature in order to maximise the amount back on PP vs A's price. Therefore, don't get 2 of Extra Mature (or 3, or more, as that includes a purchase of 2 and a BOGOF within it on the "Extra Mature only"). You could try 1x Extra Mature (purple) and 3x Mild Cheese (yellow) - but don't try and include the mature cheddar (orange) as well, as this will only be £3.49 "free" on 'cheapest item free' principle but cost £3.99.
There's so many combos, but perhaps try the following - buy:
1 x Lake District Extra Mature (350g) (purple)
1 x Lake District Mild Cheese (350g) (yellow)
together with
3x Nestle Munch Bunch Wholemilk Yogurts (4x100g) (looks like 2 x Strawberry and 2 x Apricot) - T £3 (inc. BOGOF) vs A £3
- with the 2 different cheeses already puts you over the £12 needed but only costing a total of £7.29, with £3 off and 89p on T PP back = £3.40.
You could risk mix and matches on the Munch Bunch (the ones within the A 3 for £3 offer) to make up 8 items, but this hopes that T PP picks up the mix and match at the competitor and doesn't wipe out the PP by comparing to A's full prices. If you did this, and if it worked, you'd have 5 different items, plus reuse a bag, is 6 then 2 cheap fillers, possibly 10p Haribo (lose a penny compared to Av T 10% off) and 28p Eday Value Malt Loaf (SEL said 40p yesterday at some T's but scanned at 28p - pity wasn't other way around).
If buy 3 of the same Munch Bunch, which is the safer option, you need 2 further fillers - probably best the 'cheap and cheerful' list given earlier, with the Value Mushy Peas, but prices now somewhat out-of-date and need to check MSM (and then confirm on sada.com) to check A's current prices aren't more expensive than T. Probably best to use that list than me to go through my T vs A list as I tend to avoid items that are technically beter bought at A (vs T or another) with 10% cheaper even if they are same price at T & A and only lose 1 or 2p each if bought in T (vs A's same price) e.g. Value Custard, Value Sage & Onion, Value Potatoes, Value Water, Value Sparkling Water. Don't buy 6 of the Munch Bunch (3 x T BOGOF vs 2x A's 3 for £3 as A works out more expensive than T, whereas if total of 3 are bought, T and A are same price but adds £4.50 towards your £12 spend on diary - we hope yogurts are 'diary' anyway).
There are, however, some sweets, within the T any 4 for £1 mix and match offer, which aren't avail. in A and which would therefore add up to 4 items to a T PP shop (plus bag reuse is the fifth, so could have 2 different cheeses, 3x one munch bunch, four mix and matched sweets in the offer, and 1 reuse = 8 items).
Sweets in T multibuy - any 4 for £1
Barratt Fruit Salad Stick
Barratt Refreshers single
Chupa Chups XXL Lolly 29g
Barratt Sherbet Fountain
Wham Rocket
Also Kelloggs Fruit Winders 17g and two other Chupa Chups (in the offer on MSM: click on the blue "any 4 for £1" when viewing one of the items in the offer at T to see the others).
NB Just check on sada.com that the Chupa Chups aren't there, the others I'm pretty sure will be N/A vs A.
And, as I've confused you, here is the list:
1 x Lake District Extra Mature (350g) (purple)
1 x Lake District Mild Cheddar (350g) (yellow)
3 x Nestle Munch Bunch Wholemilk Yogurts (4x100g)
Barratt Fruit Salad Stick
Barratt Refreshers single
Chupa Chups XXL Lolly 29g
Barratt Sherbet Fountain
Bag reuse
Or 4 of the cheap Value fillers instead of the 4x sweets
Or a filler could be the Jammin 2L drinks - hidden in the Long Life & World Foods aisle in my T - 44p each - as opposed to in the soft drinks section presumably so we buy the more expensive soft drinks and miss the fact there is a 2L (effectively soft drink) product in another part of the store for 44p. Found 3 different Jammin 2L at my T's, none of which are avail. in A: so could be 3 different items.
And with the 89p back, you don't have to spend as much next time!
[Edit: T Raspberry Trifles (2x145g) and T Fruit Cocktail Trifles (2x145g) - are on BOGOF - could buy one of each: both NA vs A, is 2 different fillers]0 -
Evening paw sniffers,
