around 11pm last saturday night as i was on the internet it just died.I get 2 green lights on my router and the third cycles between nothing and a flashing amber light.I have swapped all the equipment as i had 2 routers 2 power supplies and 2 adsl cables. Same result. I use a filtered faceplate on the bt master socket but have tried filters direct to the test socket. I have been through all the tests with sky to no avail. They have booked an engineer visit for next thursday so i have no internet access over christmas and am not happy about this.Does anyone know what the likely problem is?.I will be leaving sky once this problem is resolved as they have been worse than useless in the 18 months that i have been with them. I am in grantham lincolnshire.

Flashing amber @ light means that the router cannot synchronise with the exchange equipment. If you have swapped out the router with no success then it suggests you have either a line fault or a fault at the exchange. Can you still make calls on the phone line?

Yes phone works ok.
Sky have just rung to say that they have cancelled the engineer visit as they have found an issue at the exchange.

They have done this to us 3 times in the past month, it was off for hours.

Did you actually check that you could ring out on the phone, the dialling tone was there when ours was down but you couldnt ring out at all.

Worth checking if it happens again.
