Is Talktalk all Maxadsl?

I'm currently on BT option 3 and BB with Metronet - 1Mb connection, stable consistently fast and trouble free (touching wood here).

I'm looking at the talktalk £20 for both offer as it meets my needs quite nicely (not to mention the £35 odd a month saving), but I've seen too many reports of problems with the 'up to 8mb' connections, fluctuating speeds and flaky connections etc. We're only half a mile from the exchange so there shouldn't be tech problems.

I was wondering if talktalk offered the standard 'non max' adsl if you are in a non LLU area, (or even if you are). I need a rock solid connection rather than (intermittant) speed

I can't get a sensible answer from the TT sales muppets. Does anyone know?

thx

Depends if your exchange has been LLU'ed. see here to check.

what on earth does this mean? presumably our exchange hasn't yet been unbundled for CPW/TT.
Pipex, Bulldog and easynet/sky have though.

Enter your details into this page and then click on the BT ADSL button.

According to the Broadband resource our exchange (Chesterfield) has not been scheduled for unbundling to TT, although TT service is available, but TT sales insist that they have been unbundled. . . Who do I believe? (or is that a silly question).
Even more confusing, Broadband Resource shows that there are no CPW/TT unbundled exchanges here:- http://www.samknows.com/broadband/llu-league.php?status=2&type=cpw&sortfield=ex.name&sortorder=ASC
    Surely that can't be correct?
