Unattended young kids in car - would you have done anything?

Sorry but if that were me I would have reported it asap.
Prevention is better than cure and like you said you don't know how long they were there before you came.
Anything could have happened as the person with the children could have been a grandparent ect and say they took sick and no-one knew the children was outside.....Just seeing it from another angle. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
You wouldn't leave your purse or wallet on the dashboard while you went off for 2 minutes! I would be the same op it's not worth the risk no matter how small that risk is.Booo!!!0

It's illegal to leave your kids alone in the car and pop off into the shop and for good reason.
Ignorant parents who do so imho.Snootchie Bootchies!0 -
I don't know.. if they've literally just nipped into the shop for something and will be back in 5 minutes, and the car is locked so that the kids can't get out of the car and a stranger couldn't get in, maybe it'd be ok.
I am not a parent, though, and I don't think I'd be comfortable leaving youngsters on their own like that, but I can see it'd be a hassle getting three of them out of the car when you're just nipping in for a pint of milk.

Five minutes is how long it would take for someone to steal your car take your child rale and kill them. Is it really worth itNeeding to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans0 -
I saw a woman beating a small child - and i mean punching her in the head repeatedly in the car park in Asda. When she saw I was on the phone and guessed who to she blocked my car in and started hammering and screaming at the car.
Police arrived and did nothing. I called for a follow up a few weeks later to be advised they took the matter no further. (and stated they did not report to SS either)
I very much doubt (imho) they they would do very little in relation to leaving children in a car unattended. Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
If you are only 'popping out for milk' and don't want the hassle of unloading your children from the car, surely it would be better to leave them at home and have a neighbour to sit with them (or ask the neighbour to bring the milk when they go out)? Assuming you know the neighbour of course!
If you are doing a big shop, then you take the children with you into the shop.
Paying for petrol and leaving them in the car -OK as long as you can see them.
Just mho.

My take on leaving little ones on the car is that you just don't do it!! I know chances of anything happening can be slim, but they're still chances you don't take. Besides the risk of something happening to them, what about if something happened to the parent and they couldn't get back to the car?? Again, chance maybe slim, but you just never know.
Same here, used to be in the car for ages and got very worried...didn't even get anything to drink/eat and didn't actually know where they were or how long they were going to be!0
