  • None of the Supermarket brands are very good, they are all in the Which? "best to avoid" category.
Best to spend a little more on a well-known brand.

Totally agree with the above, stay away from Technika, Bush etc.
LG, Samsung are worth a look for starters, have a look at the Richer Sounds site.

As budget TVs go, Cello are better than some. But I'd echo the above & go for a big brand.

  • My Cello TV with Freeview and DVD Player has been excellent and was inexpensive.

Point is that they are not as reliable as the more well-known brands. Your experience is rather the exception.
  • I agree. I don't mind eating cheap food from Aldi and buying my clothes at Primark, but I wouldn't compromise when it comes to buying a TV.

Have bought budget TVs in the past and have had various issues with them such as not auto switching aspect ratio, not supporting RGB mode, etc. Admittedly these are possibly things that only a geek would notice and be bothered by, but it certainly put me off buying cheap supermarket TVs.

JB66.....The. cheaper Toshiba's are rebranded cheapies so that is probably why Cello's have similar features to some Toshiba's.

Depends what the price is and what you want for your budget ?

    Main TV is a Samsung
However we have bought a Cello 32" with DVD from M&S for £180 and a couple of 32" smart TV's from M&S Outlets for £149 each for the bedrooms and to be honest had them over 12 months now with no problems.
Some people complained about the sound quality but wasn't an issue for us and to be fair we found them excellent value for money. In fact I find the DVD one a better picture than the Samsung one we use in the lounge :o
It's not just about the money
