Long term no post from me, but today I have two updates. My direct debit went out yesterday, £36.99 and I made a second payment of £190 which bring my total to £381.11 £3854.11

As a bad little mini, I hit some retail therapy, and had no idea how much was left in my account. I found myself thinking I should just 'stick it on the credit card' and pay the balance off later. I had to battle with myself to make sure I put things back, but am very annoyed at myself for thinking the best way to cheer myself up is to go back into debt (however small).

Thinking this is a sign I should go speak to someone, but my GP is quite frustrating - I will have to book an appointment from work, and the receptionist will make me say what's wrong before they'll let me get an appointment.
I do this too, it's our "go to" for a "solve all" cure, except it doesn't work. I've just done it myself in fact because the OH is having a massive sulk with me, mopey face, not speaking, the works. I can't be bothered with it so am just ignoring him :D He'll either come round or move out, either way I won't have to see him being mopey :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: However, I spent mine on food: pizza, bagels, bread, bag of chocolate thingys, tortilla wraps for lunch tomorrow, and a big thing of juice. £12ish and I felt lots better for it. Tiny but necessary dent, before I would have spent £100's trying to make myself feel better, now I'm just going to get fat :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

£50 paid off the OD today, that takes it down to £200...not long until that little beauty is gone.

Can someone explain why my cat is running around with a m4ltesers chocolate bar wrapper in his mouth like it's the best toy in the world? I think it might be that it makes a noise, I'm more inclined to believe he is just a bit weird though.

kerri the problem is I've already comfort eaten 7lbs over about 2 months, the comfort shopping was to stop me comfort eating... But I hope your OH comes out of his sulk soon! And they like to say we're the grumpy ones?!?!

My old cat used to think that the little plastic eggs in a kinder surprise was the greatest thing going! They seem to like the simple things, especially if it makes a rattle/rustle

Do you have an employee assistance programme at work minicooper? You may be able to speak to them and it is all confidential. When the con-dems declared war on the civil service, our EAP saw their workload treble overnight apparently. You do not usually have to give your name and they may be more helpful than your GP?

Children are much easier than husbands in my experience, at least you get a trembling lip when you tell them off :D

Oh mini, have some cyberhugs (((mini))) I used to do this and still have to wrestle with myself, I think the fact you put the stuff back means your urges are still normal for you (and all of us ;)) albeit negative but your habits are now changed and healthy, the struggle is just the mismatch between them.

Also just wanted to say 32B3's advice is excellent a previous employer of mine offered this you could try them. Or you could use your shopping money pro-actively on a councillor perhaps there are lots of things you need to talk about. Have a glass of vino and list your worries this evening perhaps. :)

    .

Oops I have to admit I had a bit of a spendy day yesterday too. Mostly on things I needed but I also threw in a new eyeliner and hair dye just because "I wanted too" I never do this as I usually guilt myself over anything I buy for myself but these small things have really lifted my mood. Okay I didn't NEED them but I wanted them and I do feel better for buying them :o

Putting things back was a positive step mini you are learning and changing. Don't beat yourself up but 32b3 had some good advice if you feel that you need to talk to someone

this is the same at my work. we have to ring from the staff room and I don't always want everyone to know my business so I say to the receptionist 'Im in a public place at the moment so I cant discuss it'.

I hope you feel better soon xx
