  • It's not normal to add another premium, but the premium can change (either up or down), depending on the replacement car.

I mean, you wouldn't expect the premium to stay the same, if you parted with a 10 year old Escort, and replaced it with a brand new Veyron, would you?

He's gone from a 99 Mondeo to a 97 Civic, and they've added 'Additional premium' to it (it says that on the paperwork).. I'm mad because they said it was the balance to pay, they didn't say anything about adding it on to the premium he already had, it is now an extra £400 spread over 5 months when the same insurer is offering insurance for £350 for the year, he might as well ust cancel the insurance and sign up for a new policy.

I hate it when they don't explain financial things properly! i might make a ocmplaint on his behalf actually. Balance to pay suggests that is the full amount. If it was an extra premium on top it should've said that.

Score! Make sure you don't spend it all at once now :rotfl: a celebratory bag of chips and a creme egg maybe?

I'm awfully bored tonight. There's a work night out but I'm home sick... Three days with no voice, and today I'm coming down with a cold to boot... At least I'll save a few quid!

I've got a bad cold too. :( My face is all puffed up and horrible!!!!

I've been looking at shared ownership schemes; still can't decide whether they're a good or bad idea!

I blame the weather! But I suppose I don't mind an excuse not to go out in it...

I've not taken much time to understand shared ownership schemes. I figure I'll still need at least £5k either way, and I'd rather pick somewhere because it's the most suited for my needs.

    Hello :D

Payday finally arrived! My £110 quidco payment also arrived today so I paid that onto the CC as well as paying my monthly bills.

    #11 - £4741.21/£10,224 = 46.37% :j

I wonder if I can get to 50% before I make the end of April payments?

Still waiting for my exam fee expenses, so I will pay that onto the card when it eventually arrives!

    Hope everyone is well

  • Great news on the job for OH Kerri! :T

I am loving reading everyone's excitement about payday, payments being made, bonuses etc!!! I love the buzz in here on payday!!! :D

I got paid today, and unexpectedly found my bonus lurking in my account too! I didn't expect it to be paid until the end of April, so it was a nice surprise! We are putting it aside for a holiday we are planning at the end of the year. I know we should pay it off debt, but after losing his mum, Hubby is really wanting to get away this year so he has something to look forward to amongst all the sadness. I know some of you might thing it is the wrong thing, but it is what he needs and I am fine with it. We are going to get a late deal, so the bonus should cover nearly all if not all of the holiday.

We cancelled our marriage blessing as a result of losing Hubby's mum, this was planned for this Summer. We are in the process of cancelling all our bookings and expected to lose all our deposits. As it happens, 2 of our suppliers have agreed to refund our deposits in full this week which was totally unexpected. So we have an extra £300 coming to us in the next week or so to pay off debts, good times.

I am in total shock since my loan finished 1st March at how much spare money there is even after all minimum payments are made, savings put away, expenses account topped up, etc etc. I had enough to buy some fab bargain second hand John Lewis furniture (wardrobe and chest of drawers) today to replace the terrible wardrobes I have right now (you have no idea, doors won't shut, collapsing etc!), and still have £200 spare to pay off debts! Combined with the £300 refunds above, that is £500 spare to pay off our debts this month! Hubby is expecting to have £200 to spare, so we are cooking on gas this month!!! :T

I need some advice though on what to pay. We were going to put it all off Capital One, but there would still be a small balance left. Then I suggested paying off Evans and Debenhams completely so that is two debts completely gone, and the remainder off Capital One. What does everyone else think? We just think it would be nice to just get rid of two more debts in their entirety in one hit this month. What would everyone else do?

On a completely non-debt related note, Hubby and I are off work for 10 whole days now! As we now have "new" furniture for my dressing room, we are going to decorate it over our week off (a few months I bought wallpaper and paint that had been massively reduced in a closing down sale at a DIY shop who had gone to the wall). I can't wait, I am excited about this!

Wishing everyone a fab long weekend xxx
