    My a pillar (passenger side). The repair area was miles away from this.

    Apart from the fact that overspray isn't acceptable on a professionally done repair, technically this isn't a repair anyway - it's pre-sale rectification of (for all practical purposes) a new car.

    As far as rectification goes, that's pretty shoddy and I don't imagine Suzuki would be happy about it being called "acceptable" in their name!

    (eta: I'm assuming the tax disk holder is correct for the make of car of course :P )

    Joe I don't know if Suzuki would help, yes initially I wanted the problems rectified and they would have helped. However now I am so disgruntled I just want my money back, and I don't know if they would help with that.

    Unfortunately you'll be hard pressed to justify rejecting the car for what's there, especially seeing as it could be put right with no sign whatsoever if the dealer was prepared to play ball as they should.

    Even if you do try to reject, it's worth logging the matter with Suzuki on the basis that, if you can't get your money back (and I doubt you can in this case because of the ease of rectifying it), they're already informed from the PoV of getting it sorted properly.

    I wouldn't tell them that you'd be buying another Suzuki if it is refunded! Telling them how good you find the cars but can't justify buying if this is the sservice level to expect even before it's left the showroom floor, on the other hand...... ;)

    Honestly, a main dealer spraying black inside a car with white trim and without masking ALL the trim first is cutting corners to a point that the maker / importer really should know about!

    Joe I can in my opinion reject the car on the basis that its not just the A pillar as seen on the pictures. The over spray is in the door hinge area, on the door itself, on the sun visor and all over the passenger side of the dash. I have spoken to a chap who sprays cars and he said that stuff wont come off without damaging plastic therefore we are talking a full passenger side of a dashboard maybe even a full dashboard plus other trim parts like the A pillar etc, so it's not going to be a small job to put this right.
  • I was also told by email before completing the purchase of the car that the pre sale rectification (dashboard repair) as agreed had been completed to "as good as new standard". This being the case I also feel that the car didn't match the description given to me before I purchased the car. Then there is the fact that this could be seen as misrepresentation as I was privately thinking of pulling out the deal as I was uneasy about a cosmetically repaired car, and this false description convinced me to complete the purchase.

    As you have made your mind up already regardless of what others have said then your next move would be to call Suzuki customer services and discuss the matter with them, if they agree with you then they would more than likely put pressure on the dealer to sort it out for you.

  • As I want a swift conclusion to this, I have decided it might be a good option to do a swap for the car in the showroom (same model) and pay the extra providing the dealer honours the price on the showroom car he quoted before and gives me full value that I paid for the car I have just now. I just feel that if they wont repair the current car as they should, I have then compromised. Thoughts?

    is that an option they gave you? I highly doubt they would do this. If they buy the car back anbd fix it. The msot they will be able to sell the car on would be 20% less than the previous price.

    The the depreciation after have an owner on the log book on a practically new car.

    Dealers will rarely accept a return on a brand new car. If its really bothering you you might be able to get a new cover for the a piller which doesnt cost much. But to swap it for another car you're asking too much.

    Let me ask you this? Do you intend to swap the car for a different model or colour?
